I got my Dell laptop back today, after two trips to the Dell Service Center. They replaced the cover and cracked hinges, put in a new system board to repair the sound channels, and put on a whole new keyboard.
This time everything seems to be working as it should, and I'm so relieved. Now my daughter can have my old Fujitsu portable back for her diary and card playing.

Yep...been using it off and on all day and all is well. The sound is great, having both channels working makes a huge difference, and the new keyboard is a tad stiffer and feels better.
We've never bought Dell before, but the way they handled this really impressed me, especially since I bought the system used from someone else.
