Okay, maybe it's the bidders, but I've been driven to listening to this CD over and over again (only opera I know where the heroine goes made not once, but TWICE). Of course I have to sing the tenor part to Chi mi frena in tal momento? over and over again - if you're not an opera fan, I think Bugs, Daffy and Elmer did this at least once. Tons of fun.
Problem is, I've been la-la-laaaing it all. WHERE are the lyrics? I don't have a libretto and can't find one on the net. Any help (bedsides an offer of Priority tape) would be greatly appreciated. My son (a baritone) is coming down soon with his GF, and I think we could probably talk her into the soprano role...yes, this is known as "entertainment" at Hart Cottage

Strangely enough this is one that my father and I used ta sing. LOL!
(My mother hated taking long car trips with us because we'd pump up the opera and wail like cats -- neither of us being able to carry a tune, sadly.)
I'll have to ask him what he did with the words.
Other favourites -- bits o' Othello and an abbreviated version of Don Giovanni that we made up.
(All of y'all that were thinking it'd be great to be my kid in another thread a probably rethinking it now. Imagine the humiliation of having your mom not only play opera in the car -- but also sing it. Badly. Oh, my!!)

A large public library (is Hart Cottage near one?) will probably have a score that you could check out. They are expensive to buy.

Unfortunately, Hart Cottage is not anywhere near a "large" public library...but then I'm probably spoiled from my Boston days, when I lived a 5 minute walk from what I believe is one of the first public libraries in the country with an apparently unlimited catalog.
I will however have to check out what passes for the library here I was just feeling reeeeeeeally lazy and hoped to find it online!

HCQ -- I live in a half-horse town too. This weekend we went to the library and checked out a coupla tapes -- including The Mikado (because I'd found a book with the lyrics at the flea market) and La Boheme. Both came with the neat-o keen yellow words at the bottom of the screen.

Yes, bunnicula, I know about interlibrary loan, although since the main library is mostly large-type romance novels (I kid you not) and the nearest city of any size is Mobile, it'd require an interstate loan I don't think they have anything besides dental hygienist manuals at the local junior college. The main library has a wonderful selection of home repair videos, but Hart Cottage is all repaired. (This is my only complaint about this town, BTW, but I figured that living near a town with 33 bookstores in a 1/2-square-mile area - the only thing Cambridge is good for - I was just S P O I L E D ROTTEN and so shouldn't complain too much.)
I just wanted it - well, now, rather than two weeks down the road, which is why I asked for a URL.
