Hard to believe!

Nope, the prosecution never proved its case.

Bear, I didn't follow this (Blake) but from what I did read, there didn't seem to be anyone else that could've done it. Do you think he did it but the case was not proven, or do you think he's innocent?

I'm glad Peterson got the DP imposed. He did it and and was so callous, he was talking to Geragos while the sentence was being read. What a jerk.

Not hard to comprehend.

Scott Peterson is a user and abuser and got found guilty on his public personae.

Bonnie Lee (Blake's wife) was a user and abuser and her husband was found innocent on his public personae.

Facts? We don't need no stinking facts! We got media bias and public opinion!

Both cases were terribly handled by the so called professionals in law enforcement. What was it Jay Leno said about the LAPD over the OJ trial? They're so incompetent they couldn't frame a guilty man? Or something similar.

Kraft,,,There was no direct evidence he did it. No blood on him, Firearms experts testified it was impossible for him to have fired the weapon (insufficient amount of gun shot residue on his hands) and her history of oing people wrong" came into play.

Even the judge that granted him bail in the two week hearing, stated there was insufficient evidence to convict him.

I think there was a lot of he said, he said going on between the men that said that Blake hired them and it was not believable.
To many hired hit men in the picture.

Question KD don't you think that Scott Peterson should have gotten the DP?

Libra, I have a hard time with the DP. I'm normally against it, BUT when it comes to serial rapists/killers that go after children, I think they should be put to sleep.

Peterson won't be executed for at least 20 years, so hopefully his stay will give him time to think about things.

Yes 20 years is a long time. I understand there are alot of appeals to go through..

The Blake and Peterson verdicts are interesting to compare. Neither case had much in the way of physical evidence but clearly, one had a sympathetic victim and one did not. Of course, that shouldn't matter but it usually does.

I agree Fiset.. that had to factor into the verdict.

My personal feeling about Blake is that he did take part in his wife's murder. It was to "set up"... forgetting his gun in the resturant...returning to retrieve it while the murder takes place... I think he hired someone to be there and do the deed... it was like a cheap, old plot from a Baretta episode..
But lack of evidence will set you free.

The other is a sociopath.. he showed very little grief or emotion throughout the trial..his lizard blood and dead eyes told the story.. and the sympathetic victim tipped the scales against him this time.

I agree too Fiset & Maggie. From what I read, there was more evidence in the Blake case than Peterson's. I read Blake DID have gun residue on his hand, although it was a small amount (glove?). I think HE shot her after they ate, then he ditched the gun in the garbage on his way back to the restaurant to look for the gun he says he left there. Did he ever find this mysterious gun?

With Peterson, there could've been no other way it happened.

Oh and thanks Bear. I know you and Fenix keep up with these cases so I appreciate your insight!
