(CNSNews.com) -
Billionaire financier George Soros's conviction for insider trading was upheld by a French appellate court on Thursday.
Soros, the liberal financier who spent more than $23 million of his own money trying to defeat President Bush last year, was found guilty of insider trading in 2002 by a French court for his involvement in a 1988 takeover battle of the French bank Societe Generale.
Soros is facing a fine of $2.87 million.
petty cash to him
On Thursday, the Paris Court of Appeal upheld Soros's conviction for obtaining insider information about the bank before a planned corporate raid was launched to drive up the company's share price.

Of course the insider information was something he was told at a coctail party and it happened 14 years ago. The strange thing is why this case was ever even prosecuted or allowed to go forward since the French statute of limitations is 3 years.

I'd bet the Bush administration is to blame for the French court upholding Soro's conviction.

Linda K says "I'd bet the Bush administration is to blame for the French court upholding Soro's conviction"
What a great idea Linda. Since this White House and its supporters like Tom Delay are responsible for so many SHADY DEALS both here in America and abroad. Your statement probably has a lot of truth to it for a change.
BTW Linda did you notice this White House's ratings has dropped 7 points in 7 days.

LOL peepa....never saw any polls stating the WH ratings as dropping. Have they found termites there?
But maybe you're referring to your AOL polls? Like their going to get our President impeached or something? No...just more complaining from the bush haters. Nothing un-usual about that.
Just remember.....only

Linda - Even Fox News is acknowledging that Bush's approval rating have taken a big dip in the past week. They are not questioning the validity of the numbers, just trying to figure out if it is because of the Shiavo case or Social Security.

fenix - I think the dems are so ingrained to everything depending on what the most current poll shows. But remember, this President doesn't make his decisions based on what the latest poll is showing.
So....I don't see how having lower poll numbers is going to change anything. Do you think he's headed for impeachment? I don't.

Good, the Repugs need money to illegally pay talk show hosts to present their platform as real news.....lots of money going there! Maybe if they raise their own money they just might quit using taxpyer's money for their illegal shenanigans....but I doubt it.
And then there's bush's close personal friend , Ken Lay....let's see how many years he gets for destroying so many lives....or will taxpayer's money go to defending him?

Linda K, again you got caught in one of your sooooo many LIES.
At this point in time I am not sure who I DISLIKE AND DISRESPECT MORE. This White House or people like you that LIE TO SUPPORT IT.
Linda K, you really do need to get current by understanding that using old worn-out KEY WORDS LIKE "BUSH HATERS" isn't working any longer. People are seeing the true "HATERS" are people with your mind set not the American people that voted republican or democrat.

LOL - Get the message, cheryl and peepa....polls don't matter...he's already been re-elected.
And peepa...you have ONLY posted 4-5 polls recently...ALL AOL polls. Not unreasonable for me to suspect this one was too. You didn't happen to inform us where you got your info.
And yes, I believe Bush haters is very appropriate for both you and cheryl. You can't see past your own hatred of this man. And I don't care...it's YOUR problem.

I proudly call myself a bush hater!
I hate evil.
I hate corruption.
I hate leaders who lie.
I hate cheaters.
I hate people who act to destroy the environment just to make their friends rich.
I hate red-herrings like special sessions to butt into people's private lives so..
that focus is taken off real issues.
I hate more government interference by those who SAY they don't want more government.
I hate the intellectually uncurious.
I hate people who only read the sports page because they don't care about people's opinions.
I hate people who care more about their golf swing then whether or not America has terrorist warnings.
The list goes on and on.....but again I'm proud to hate bush and more importantly the people behind him who are really running the country.

Ahem - I mean "his". Excuse the faux paux. I know that you never, ever in your wildest dreams make any errors of that sort. So forgive me while I bow down to your perfectionism.
Call me a bush hater all you want. Your words mean very little to me. You don't know me and I don't know you. Keeping it that way will make my life a whole lot less complicated. If Kerry had been elected, we'd be hearing the same stuff from you and you damned well know it.
Yes, I'm crabby today. Why do you ask? LOL! I have dozens of eggs to do and a huge dinner to prepare for tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it.

--------------
cheryl - your 'IHATEBUSH.COM' link said it all. You can hate him all you want. My point was for you to remember that hatred eats the hater alive...not the hated one.

So....obviously it doesn't bother anyone that Soros, the liberal financier who spent more than $23 million of his own money trying to defeat President Bush last year, was found guilty of insider trading in 2002 by a French court for his involvement in a 1988 takeover battle of the French bank Societe Generale.
It appears he's A-okay with the left....after all he supported THEIR guy. Doesn't matter that big money like this from ONE individual [i]could have/might have changed an American election.....nor that he's obviously not too honest a man...even by French standards. But boy how the left tears apart our Corporate donors.

Linda K, people like you disgust me. I have never liked phony,greedy,self-serving people. Read the post below and try to tell us all you didn't know about the drop in ratings. Simply put a lot of well meaning republicans and democrats who voted for Bush are not getting what they were lead to believe they were voting for.
Linda K said "LOL - Get the message, cheryl and peepa....polls don't matter...he's already been re-elected." We will all see if the polls matter or not. Linda K you need to remember that people with your mind set are still very much in the minority in America. Your arrogance will be short lived.
I am so glad you made this statement it shows your phony,greedy,self-serving arrogance.

Bush Approval Rating Hits Low Mark
WASHINGTON (March 26) - President Bush's job approval slipped into the mid 40s in national polls released this week as he lost some support among men and other groups of core supporters.
Public approval for Bush slipped from 52 percent in a CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll over the weekend to 45 percent in that same poll released Thursday. A CBS News poll released earlier in the week found Bush's approval slipping six points to 43 percent.
The Gallup poll found Bush losing support among men, self-described conservatives and churchgoers while the CBS poll found a drop among men and Republicans.
The polls come after Congress and the president intervened in the case of Terri Schiavo, a 41-year-old woman whose feeding tube had been removed. The federal intervention was widely unpopular, even with conservatives and evangelicals.
But Bush's dip in the polls also comes at a time that gas prices have been on the rise and the president is involved in an uphill campaign for changes in Social Security.
The Gallup poll of 1,001 adults was taken Monday through Wednesday and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. The CBS News poll of 737 adults was taken Monday and Tuesday and has a 4 percentage point margin of error.
