db-I looked at that website and I'm still trying to figure out the concept-I didn't read all the info as it wasn't making a lot of sense-but then thats probably just me. Seems to me your searching for something and not finding it at home. This group reminds of the Hari Krishna (sp?) the hippie communes and the transcendental meditation of the 70's fads.I never believed in all that crap, but hey, as the John Lennon song goes "what ever gets you thru the night" If your husband is straight laced, you're right I don't think he would enjoy being there.I clicked on a couple of those pictures and in one I saw a statue of Santa Claus with a Christmas tree in the middle of the desert.I started to laugh and I'm thinking what the f*ck is that all about?? LOL. These people are weird but maybe thats what you need right now..a little weirdness. You didn't say what was wrong, but I assume that drama was not pleasant.I'm not a psychologist-thats Helen's dept,so you're probably asking the wrong person for advice.

Funny thing is I am not searching. I am right here at home and getting into trouble!! lol.
Thats alright classic. Yes, it is a little 'out-there' for me, thats what had it me worried. I got this email, karma sutra and all this stuff....
I doubt Helen will be able to tell me much I dont already know. But I bet others are having a field day with themselves with it, with the emails of course... (We just had it out hubby and me about him working all the time, and me being on the computer all the time? - What a revelation eh? go figure, )
Buts its one day in a life, classic. It will pass. Thanks for your reply tho!

Most of us have had days like that, dbl, and you don't get special treatment by not having to experience one of them yourself.
Finding balance in our lives, getting our needs met, can be difficult at times. hang in there.

lol, thanks Linda! Yes, its been hard to find the balance. Everything is on him financially, and I can understand why he is cranky sometimes. But its no bed of roses for me to be here by myself so much either. And I could get mislead into something out of sheer boredom, ya know? A person I correspond with sent me the link and said I should come out there. And after the bs fight, I was actually considering it! Yeah, that stuff is weird, but it appeals to me on some levels...
Not to be crypic so anyone can read the thread the site is burningman.com. From what I read about it, it was originally based out in SF? I thought Fenix would know about it thats why I posted it here for some opinions, but then classics thinking I'm drugs or something...lol.
btw, classic, I thought that santa was funny too. But maybe thats why it kinda appealed to me. - Art? But fun? People letting all their inhibitions out which ever way. If anything I could see myself laughing there ALOT.

posted on May 26, 2005 08:18:53 AM newsheer boredom
Yep....I can identify with that. My kid sister married a contractor and they moved up to Oregon. She was bored to death and he was always working. After getting settled in and decorating their home, she became bored too.
Then a group of JW's got a hold of her...and she's never been the same since. God, what a struggle our family went through with her. She, of course, was taught to 'convert' all of us to her faith, told if her family rejected her [which we didn't - just wouldn't buy into their belief's] then SHE should pull away from us. Imo, any religion that encourages family members to separate from their 'roots' doesn't have that person's best interests at heart.
Family is usually our major, strongest support system, to lose that is to lose ones foundation.
So the message here is...fight boredom at all costs otherwise who knows what 'group' of different thinkers you may get involved with.

Well after all the ranting and raving about how OTHER people should get off the computer and get a life it's a change to see the truth..."""(We just had it out hubby and me about him working all the time, and me being on the computer all the time""""
Now, why don't you GET A JOB
There's MILLIONS of them out there and it's a sure cure for boredom, little princess.
Not very self-reliant to sit at home not supporting yourself in any way, living off someone else.
There's always volunteer work where you GIVE something instead of sitting at home crying about being bored .

crowfarm you are a typical idiot.
Until recently and unless I am really bored, I am not on the computer or this site 1/10th as much as you.
Not very self-reliant to sit at home not supporting yourself in any way, living off someone else...oh just too bad for crowfarm, I got it like that, too tiddly winks bad for you. But of course "it" missed the part about not having a car. I dont live in urbana you know, so lay your femme rap on somebody else today - chicken leg lesbo butch, because if your looking for a trifle to pound, its not me today. I might even take 666 upmy azz for a favor to rip you apart one more time so dont start with me. You have no clue what you are talking about.

Good Twist, linduh ! You are devious!
linduh, I may in YOUR narrow minded opinion be a lousy human being but YOU aren't human at all...
Enjoy singing kumbaya to mock the sacrifices of our troops...that's pretty LOW, too, linduh but when you do it it's OK...NOT ,
And your friend Dble.....isn't very self-reliant is she...laying around on her butt all day, a parasite...why doesn't she just get a car and a job...living in the country is an excuse for not working ? MILLIONS of people live in the country and drive to work !
THEY contribute to society...not your parasite friend.

You are the parasite. I've worked 30 years. I just happen to have something you dont: Somebody that loves me and tells me I dont have to work if I dont want to. ha-ha-ha-ha! jealouse butchie ha-ha-ha-ha!

kraft, i am bored because he is my main partner and friend. He works alot, ergo he is tired and has other concerns. We dont do things together like we used to. My car is not working so I am limited to where I can go and even if I can go, I dont spend alot of money. And yes, I am about bored to tears with ebay these slow days, plus. sales never was my thing.

Is crowfarm a straight women?
It's to bad when someone has problems there is always someone to critize. Remember where she came in and said she lost 9% of her salary, well now can you guess why.
I would hate to be her waking up in the morning and the first place she goes is right to Vendio and the RT to see what hatred she can spew for the day.
Posters can't even have a decent discussion without her slamming the door on it.
I didn't see what you posted dbl and I am not going to look. Sometimes life is the pits but it doesn't last forever.

I'm kind of in the same boat, Double. Both Mr. Krafts work long hours and take business trips which leaves me alone with no car for long periods. Since I HATE watching tv (except fot The Bounty Hunter), I usually end up doing yard work or cleaning or something. Pretty boring too, eh?

Libra, I seriously doubt it. But yeah, Thanks, I know this day will pass to.
And yes, youre right cannot even let you hair out with vultures like crowfarm making it a cause celebrity for the day. Par for the course I suppose Libra.
And yes, she's got to be an unstraight woman, she cant even appreciate a man who loves a woman to say I'll take care of you because I love you. I dont know libra. It's way to femminazi for my taste. But thanks. Things will change. He is working on making a change with his job. I just have to be patient.,

Yes, I can see that kraft. Only I dont think you have the financials on top of it, but thats okay its still sort of the same thing.
oh well.
I will find something else to do. But how much cleaning and ebaying and all other that can you do. And usually when he comes home, I am having fun with you guys here and then he gets annoyed...lol. I know its not right. I am going to find something else to put myself into.

LIBRA for once and for all
womAn is SINGULAR
womEn is PLURAL
I am one womAn.
I see your standards aren't quite as high as you want people to believe if you call dble's post "decent"
""I dont live in urbana you know, so lay your femme rap on somebody else today - chicken leg lesbo butch, because if your looking for a trifle to pound, its not me today. I might even take 666 upmy azz for a favor to rip you apart one more time so dont start with me.""""
libra your standard of "decency" is woefully lacking.... but I see that if something isn't to your liking you just pretend it isn't there.
And, as is typical with the ignorant, they think calling someone a lesbian is the ultimate insult. No stretch of logic touches their lives.
libra, why do you bring up my pay cut all the time...? gloating oveer the misfortune of others is a good christian thing to do ?
Everyone in my company got a 9% pay cut from the CEOs and throughout the company.
Now with your crystal ball are you saying that all 300 people are "bad" people and deserved the pay cut.
No, they aren't . They took a pay cut to keep the company afloat during these crappy economical times and it is working.
I don't slam the door on any discussion...people are free to post any time they want whether you like it or not .
Sometimes discussions end when I shove a healthy dose of LOGIC in their face like I do so often to you but the thread is still open and they ARE free to post.
It's amazing that the same posters who slam "welfare moms" who truly are struggling come rushing to the defense of some whiner who's just bored and feeling sorry for herself.
Trust me , there are MANY women who would love to be home with their families but don't have time for self pity and moping because they are to busy TAKING CARE OF THEMSELVES as ALL adults are expected to do.
