Congrats, Near! You're on your way. My daughter's favorite things to sew are pillows. She makes them out of old clothing and doilies she finds in resale shops and hand sews them since she doesn't have a machine. They're great gifts for people at Christmas time. She's even sewed in little pouches of po. . pot. . .you know - that stinky stuff that I can't spell.

My wife sewed my step daughters wedding dress years ago. Twenty-Two yards of silk, hand sowed 5000 beads, & thousands more clear seaquens. Had a 7 foot train with a heart shaped cut out in it.
Took months to complete it. Longer than the marriage lasted, then her ungrateful daughter lost the dress & doesn't know where.
Now mama bear works dor a company that produces high end childrens bedding sets. Thousand thread count English fabrics, designer colors, super soft blankets, crib bumpers, you name it, they do it.
Wholesale pricing for this stuff starts at $300.
A large number of film & TV celebs, sports figures & other "famous" people are in their list of clients.

LOL you guys (on Pot!) Yeah its fun, now this whole thing is becoming addicting! Sewing, never thought I would get into it this much
Bear, how cool! you know I really didn't know there was much difference in the thread count, until we bought a sheet set with 500 thread count (it was on sale at Marshalls for $39.99) DAMN! thread count does make a huge difference!! I could only wish I could afford to buy 1000 count!!
Not ready for alternations .. yet I'll let you know!
