I just wanted to share my wonderful evening with everybody!

My husband and I live near a city park where unwanted pets are frequently dumped. In the past 13 years, I have taken care of countless stray cats. Those that were friendly were spayed or neutured and placed in good homes. The feral ones were at least given warm shelter in the winter and a daily evening meal. I've even been able to trap some of the wild ones and at least have them spayed or neutured before they were released. I was able to relocate some of the free-spirits to barns where they took on new lives as mousers with shelter and regular meals as their reward.

This evening a gorgeous Siamese wandered into our backyard just as I glanced out the window. It didn't take me long to coax the cat out of its hiding place in the shrubs. She turned out to be pretty friendly and let me pick her up after she had a little snack. I just couldn't believe this beautiful cat was a stray or had been abandoned. Sure enough, there was a Missing Cat ad in the local paper.

I called the number and a young couple with their 15-month-old girl came right over. It turns out Molly had been missing for over a week. They had found her collar and expected the worse. Molly's Mom told me their little girl had been looking all over the house for "kitty" the past week. Molly had to travel several blocks and cross two very busy streets to end up at our house. It was thrilling to reunite her with her family.

Just wanted to share a story with a happy ending!

What a heartwarming finish, to a story that could otherwise have been heartbreaking, to Molly's family.
Kudos to you for doing what you can to help the little homeless.

Maple,
Thanks for the nice story and for taking care of the dumped cats where you live. I'm sure you made Molly's day as well as her families.

Nice to know there are good people like you in this world.
