Ron, you missed Tom's point. Ron asked "How is it shameful?"
Man-o-Man MR.CON-SERVATIVE MAN. If you don't know what is shameful by now there is no help or hope for your kind.
What is shameful is Bush,FEMA,Homeland Security, and the republican controlled houses that cut funding for the New Orleans levy project.
WHO ARE YOU GOING TO BLAME NOW MR.CON-SERVATIVE MAN? THE VICTIMS?
5 DAYS LATER BUSH SAYS JOB "NOT ACCEPTABLE" BUT HIS AGENCIES ARE "WORKING HARD" AND "MAKING PROGRESS". SORRY MR.BUSH WE HAVE ALL HEARD YOUR SHAMEFUL WORDS AND LIES BEFORE.

I'm lost too. What is shameful? That they don't have enough able bodied people to care for the sick and wounded??? Why not drive down and lend a hand if you can do better?

peepa, you are, of course, aware that even had no funding been cut, the levee project wouldn't have been completed for many years. Have you actually done any research on the levee project or are you basing all your opinions on a couple of paragraphs from some op-ed piece?
Oh, and you ask about blame. How would you asses the Louisiana governor's first response protocol? How do you feel about a mayor who openly says things like "I don't know what to do"? In your opinion, should a city built below sea level have any sort of emergency plans in place in the event of catastrophic flooding? You and your ilk are big on placing blame so I'm sure your lack of harsh words for the people elected in the state is just an oversight.
