Nice, How many cards do your want! While some people have lost homes, cars, etc. How many people who had nothing will have their hands out, saying where's mine!

Drugs users will be lining up for miles looking for these cards. How many who receive a card will come back saying I lost mine, it was stolen, etc. New Card, New Pin #. No ID needed. What a joke!

Money well spend!

Are you by chance, referring to the $2,000. debit cards those evacuees were/are being given to survive?

I read that also that every adult of the age of 18 were given a $2000 debit card. Is that FEMA that did that?

Yeah I can see some scams on that, as a lot of people do not have their ID with them.

While watching the News today they showed a person who just received his card.

The one he showed was white with a Red Cross on it.

Led me to believe it was from the Red Cross.

The anchor person made the statement that the cards were worth from $600.00 to $1,000.00.

Both Fema and Red Cross are giving out cards. Not everyone will get both and the amount depends on the the number of people that must be supported by it, i.e. - someone with no kids will recieve less than someone with a child to care for, someone with 1 child will recieve less than someone with 3 kids, etc.

Simple a case of bushy trying to buy some good PR
Ya, they get these cards after waiting in line for hours in 90 degree heat(some were told after waiting that they ran out of cards and they'd have to come back!)

Ya, then ALL they have to do is go online or phone to get a card....like they have phones readily available and a computer on every street corner and the card will be MAILED to them !! OK, just exactly WHERE do they pick up their mail.?? Does the mailman deliver through polluted, disease ridden water and then the people boat back to their homes to pick up the mail???

Why not hand out CASH in paper bags like they did for the IRAQIS ?

WHY NOT?

WHY NOT treat AMERICANS better THAN IRAQIS????????????????

FEMA offering 2,000 per household...Whether money is a grant or loan yet to be determined.

It's interesting to read the New Orleans Times Picayune on this site. In the left column click on "select a page".

And these people are complaining already about standing in line for five hours to get the cards.

If they were capable of simple math they would realize that works out to $400 / hour.

Where do I sign up?

I know bear....there are just some that will complain about anything, everything, rather than realizing this is about the only way they can give them financial help right now. It boggles my mind to see them acting this way.

The Red Cross cards are valued at $1500, while the FEMA cards are $2000.

Wonder how many will abuse the system and get cards from both FEMA & Red Cross...

Bear - some people qualify for both, not all do. The people who "abuse" the system are ones that have a larger need because they have more dependents. But By all means you should keep looking for the worst in humanity. I would be shocked if you didn't.

Post from the poor shriveled soul, lonely hate-filled desperate, most evil person breathing:

"""I know bear....there are just some that will complain about anything, everything, rather than realizing this is about the only way they can give them financial help right now. It boggles my mind to see them acting this way. """

I know this cannot in anyway touch you LindaKKK because there is nothng left to touch...your soul died a long time ago but

YOU have no idea what these people have suffered , what hell they have gone through. They have lost their homes.
They have gone days without food, water, bathrooms. They have survived more horrible circumstances than any person in "the world's greatest" country should ever have to.
They have lost family and friends but don't have time to mourn.
They have been bussed and herded like animals, not knowing what the future holds for them , even what town they'll be in next.

Your disgusting support for throwing tax payer's money willy nilly into Iraq and then your sheer hatred of your own fellow Americans is disgusting and reason to have you deported....go to Iraq.

You never did answer me when I suggested you go to Iraq since you seem to think bush made it such a wonderful place....why don't you?

You could prove , finally, that you ARE as self-sufficient as you claim.
