CINDY SHEEHAN CALLS FOR U.S TO 'PULL OUR TROOPS OUT OF OCCUPIED NEW ORLEANS'
Mon Sep 12 2005 12:42:11 ET

Celebrity anti-war protester, fresh off inking a lucrative deal with Speaker's Bureau, has demanded at the HUFFINGTON POST and MICHAEL MOORE'S website that the United States military must immediately leave 'occupied' New Orleans.

"I donีt care if a human being is black, brown, white, yellow or pink. I donีt care if a human being is Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, or pagan. I donีt care what flag a person salutes: if a human being is hungry, then it is up to another human being to feed him/her. George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power. The only way America will become more secure is if we have a new administration that cares about Americans even if they donีt fall into the top two percent of the wealthiest."

Sheehan is in the middle of a bus trip across America in support of her cause.

She has just make the A-List.

I heard this on Hannity yesterday - I wanted to scream! She is one screwed up lady. This is part of her blog from Michaelmoore.com from today:

"One thing that truly troubled me about my visit to Louisiana was the level of the military presence there. I imagined before that if the military had to be used in a CONUS (Continental US) operations that they would be there to help the citizens: Clothe them, feed them, shelter them, and protect them. But what I saw was a city that is occupied. I saw soldiers walking around in patrols of 7 with their weapons slung on their backs. I wanted to ask one of them what it would take for one of them to shoot me. Sand bags were removed from private property to make machine gun nests."

What is that wacko doing in Louisiana anyway? What does her son Casey's death, which is supposedly the reason for her mission, have to do with Hurricane Katrina?

Hey maybe between her and the screamer Dean they can propell the Democrats into office in the midterms. I think with their help, bolstering the Dems, they really have got a good chance and don't forget about all the people that peepa is talking to daily, that will surely help too.
<huge eyeroll here>

This perfectly illustrates how the desperate Dems will accept help from any old nutjob.

Pi - Wake up!!! Time for breakfgast. Enough of living in dreamland. The only people that have paid any attention to that nutcase after day 3 are news editors when there was nothing else to report and conservatives. Everyone else knew she she was a fruitcake, they were just trying to be sensitive enough not to say so considering that she had lost a child.

Yes fenix, i realise that but you'd think that the Dems would console her a little and then find a way to shut her up because she sure as helll isn't doing anything to help their cause.

The people of America are watching whenever the news media reports her garbage and afterall, isn't that what really matters, what the people think.

Nah, even the Dems didn't really want to have much to do with her. This was almost 100% a product of the media.

You're right too Replay, it was a product of the news media.

I have a Democrat friend here that went to Crawfarm Texas to participate in Cindy's rally based on what she saw in the media and when she returned she told me all about it and even she said what a nutjob she was.

These are the people that i am talking about.

Sheehan is hurting the Dems more than she is helping them and i hope she goes on hurting them.

Pi - I think that your assessment of her effect on the democratic party is wishful thinking. As I said, the only people paying any attention to her any more are conservatives that think the same was you do so she is not going top sway them. No one else is paying attention to her.

If you want the Democratic version of your wishful thinking... Conservative press is taking advantage of a unbalanced grieving mother in order to make media hay for political gain.

Do you think that is going to sway republicans?

Of course not. Sheehan is a non issue to 99% of the public. She is not going to sway anyone... she's just the main charachter in a political fairie tale that some are entertaining themselves with this week.

Hey All, Looks to me like Cindy Sheehan isn't the only person that wants America out of Iraq. For those of you that want to join a peace march here is some info below.

Next weekend on Saturday, September 24, there is a massive "End the War on Iraq" peace march and rally in Washington, DC organized by United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ). The weekend of activities will make it unmistakably clear to President Bush and Congress that the American people want an exit plan with a timeline to end the war in Iraq. Join United for Peace and Justice next weekend.

Saturday, September 24, 2005 :: Washington, DC

10:00 AM All-Day Peace & Justice Festival Begins, Washington Monument Grounds on the National Mall on Washington, D.C.

12:30 PM March steps off from the Ellipse

Au contraire mofraire(sp), you've seen the support she's gotten right here on this board in other similar threads.

As i pointed out about my Democrat friend who supported her based on what she saw in the media but now after she's met and talked to her she no longer does and now she even questions her own beliefs about the war in general.

So Cindy is doing a bus tour? Alot of people that support her stance on the war based on what the media is showing us will come out to see and hear her but after seeing just what a nutjob she really is, more will think the same as my friend.

peepa, again you need to educate yourself to the groups you support.

United for Peace and Justice is an anti-American umbrella for other smaller anti-American groups.

Click on this link....read the list of their groups and THEN tell us which ones you believe are PRO-AMERICAN groups....

Pi - look at who keeps bringing her up... Bear. Look at where the links come from ... Drudge and WorldNetDaily. Are you honestly going to try to deny that Drudge, Bear and WorldNetDaily are conservatives?

No one on these boards have offered support of her messages for quite awhile. They have offered sympathy for a mother that lost a child but I seem to remember a general consensus that she has gone off the deep end.

BTW - you want to know how much attention the bus tour is generating? It started a week and a half ago. Good thing Bear mentioned it since it doesn't seem that anyone else is. Looks like she got a whopping 50 people at her last stop.

They most certainly were cheerleading for Cindy.

How her bringing attention to this, as a mother of a fallen soldier, was changing a lot of things.

Those who deny it aren't remembering what was said here over and over about her. [They're in denial of her 15 minutes of fame and how happy she made them].

They just didn't realize she had her own agenda BEFORE her son CHOSE to go off to a war she so opposed....and now that she might be embarassing their party...many might like to pretend she didn't have an influence on THEM.

So you're saying that Bear is just poking fun at a grieving mother? I don't think he would be that cruel. I think he posts these threads because there is support for her stance on the war and that she is using the death of her son to promote it.

If you want, i guess i could go find the support she's gotten from this board on her stance to the war and how the death of her son justifies her beliefs. I really wish you'd just go and take another look on your own though.

::So you're saying that Bear is just poking fun at a grieving mother? I don't think he would be that cruel.::

Why? Do you see a trend of happy upbeat things posted by Bear? Why would you be shocked that he enjoys poking fun at Cindy Sheehan.

::I think he posts these threads because there is support for her stance on the war and that she is using the death of her son to promote it.::

I think he posts these threads for the same reason that he posts threads like...

Ungrateful NO evacuee Equates Buses to Slave Ships
Another Demo felon escapes Prison
$25K for desert oasis for Illegals
New Orleans, Cannibalism, and Racial Watersheds

Bear posts under the general theme of - if you can't say something snide, don't say anything at all.

::If you want, i guess i could go find the support she's gotten from this board on her stance to the war and how the death of her son justifies her beliefs.::

I'm not saying that there were not people that supported her position, I'm saying that as time wore on, there ceased to be support for her. She went from sympathetic, to kind of embarassing, to pretty much pathetic. I'd say that leaving her stroke victim mother after two days to hang out on the side of the road with strangers was the last straw for many.

::There was a hurricane in the Gulf.... It has dominated discussions here since it happened.::

Yes - true, however looking back at the posts, the most recent Sheehan post was last made on the 24th of last month, was started by Bear, and is still another pissing contest between posters but as far as I can tell, contains no support for Sheehan. Then we have one from the 20th regarding her mothers stroke... no support shown in that one, on the 19th there is another and I think I am the one was most sympathetic too her in that thread which should tell you much.

Fox News has mentioned her....just in very short clips...as pretty much 'tripping out' too.

The WSJ in the past couple of days points out how she's trying to get her '16th' minute of fame. lol

It's being discussed....and many conservatives, moderates, indendpends and undecides....along with dems who also read/watch more conservative sources....ARE hearing about her.....recently.

She's just not big news anymore...but don't doubt they're talking about how far off the wall she's going....because they ARE. She's being mocked by many.

Linda - but HONESTLY, do you believe that anyone is actually giving this woman credibility?

You actually prove my point. The only attention she is getting is that of a side show freak. No one is trying to thrust any credibility on her and THAT is the only way she could be politically damaging. She's a nut job, we all know she is a nut job. Fox can give her all the coverage they want (which BTW - has been minimal at best since her mothers stroke) but they are singing to the choir so what's the point. If they are hoping to win over moderates they are going to have to master something they hae very little grasp of... subtly. If they go on the attack the just look like bullies. From what I have seen, they and they rest of the broadcast media is taking a position of "Don't disturb the Crazy Lady."

The attention she is still getting is mostly from the Michael Moore camp and Moveon.org. Pity the same amount of coverage given to Sheehan was not given to the "You Don't Speak For Me, Cindy!" tour put together by pro-Bush military families which also went to Crawford Texas.

The supporters in this bus tour far outnumbered Sheehan supporters despite not being given the top news billing Sheehan received.

fenix - but they are singing to the choir so what's the point.

I don't agree with your opinion on that. I believe they've help make some undecideds go 'right'. And in bringing up mention of her activities...it has convinced MORE that she's a nutcase.

If they are hoping to win over moderates they are going to have to master something they hae very little grasp of...subtly.

Again, I don't agree. I think they did what it took and were successful at it.

If they go on the attack the just look like bullies.

LOL....oh like all those wacko democratic leaders in Congress???
Looking like a bully depends on which side you're viewing as to just whom the 'bullies' are.
