Is Peepa a clone of Pelosi......????????? With all his anti Bush retoric he must be reading Pelosi's play book.
-----------
It is quite amusing to watch Nancy Pelosi grab every possible opportunity to stand in front of a TV camera to bemoan what she calls the Republicans' "culture of corruption." Pelosi and the rest of the Democrat leadership are trying desperately to smear President Bush and the Republican party with charges of corruption in relation to the spurious allegations that Tom DeLay and Senator Bill Frist may have done something wrong.
It's strange that during the Clinton years, Pelosi didn't say a thing about the "culture of corruption" that permeated the entire Clinton administration. In fact, the Democrat leadership made a point of standing for a photo op with the president who had defiled the White House with his sexcapades and lied under oath to a grand jury and to the American people.
Where was the outcry about the "culture of corruption" surrounding Hillary's campaign financing in 2000?
Where was the outcry about the "culture of corruption" surrounding Enron's influence over the Commerce Department's support for the horrendous fraud that ultimately toppled the company? Where was the outcry about the last-minute pardons or any of the events in one of the nation's most scandal-ridden, corrupt administration?
The same Democrat leaders who now bay like Georgia hounds about allegations of corruption were then silent in the face of genuine corruption. What hypocrisy!
The Democrat leadership has no agenda other than bashing President Bush and all Republicans. Their strategy seems to be that if they can sling enough mud at the Republicans, they will regain control of the government by default.
Fortunately, not all Democrats are cast in the same mold as their current leadership. The nation benefits when different philosophies and conflicting ideas meet in honest debate, where resolution is the result of compromise and a final public vote.
The recent passage of the Threatened and Endangered Species Recovery Act provides a great example of how Democrats and Republicans can disagree, respectfully, and still produce a policy result that is acceptable to proponents on both sides of the argument. The bill was co-sponsored by Republican Rep. Richard Pombo, and Democrat Rep. Dennis Cardoza, both from California. On final passage (229-193), 36 Democrats voted for the bill, and 34 Republicans voted against it. Throughout the floor debate, members of Congress on both sides expressed appreciation to their opponents for the civility of the debate and the spirit of compromise that prevailed as the bill made its way through committee and to ultimate passage.
When good ideas are ignored simply because they come from a member of the opposite party, America is the loser. When the quest for power supersedes the quest for good public policy, the power seekers betray the trust of their electors – and should be replaced.
With elections barely a year away, the Democrat leadership appears to have little thought about good public policy. Instead, their only focus appears to be bashing everything Republican.
Major policy questions must be addressed during the remaining months of this congressional session. Congress must increase access to energy resources and remove the unnecessary regulatory obstacles to building new refineries and new power plants. Congress must decide the nation's appropriate role in rebuilding the Gulf Coast. Congress must deal with the crucial constitutional question of when it may be appropriate for the federal government to take control from state and local government in response to crises, whether natural or man-made. And there is a war under way – that must be won.
If the Democrat leadership is, in fact, the "loyal" opposition, they have a duty to participate in civil debate on all these issues. Nancy Pelosi's boycott of the Katrina inquiry and the rush by the Democrat leadership to blame Bush for all that went wrong in Katrina's aftermath illustrate the difference between "loyal" opposition and opportunistic obstructionists whose quest is regaining power.
The people who elected the Democrat leadership -- and all Americans -- deserve better representation. There are many responsible Democrats who really want to participate in the process, not obstruct it. These are the people voters should find, between now and the next election. After all, it is the voters who determine the quality of leadership in Congress.

LOL....sometimes....most of the time he doesn't make as much sense as she does even when she's blabbering and not actually saying much. But she DOES love that camera.
I loved how this reporter spun her in circles when interviewing her about the USSC decision to allow the taking of private property for other use.
And I have another article I just read this morning about kerry and his 'hoped for' 2008 run. Made me laugh. I'll post that link here too JUST in case anyone is interested in what a fool they voted for really is.
---
Here's what NewsMax.com said. LOL
It may surprise you, but both John Kerry and Ted Kennedy believe Kerry is the frontrunner for the Democratic nod in 2008.
Being the MOST liberal of all democrats.
If the pair had any prayer of this, their hopes have been dashed with the release of a new documentary film made during John Kerry's presidential campaign.
Pundits say it has torpedoed any remaining chance he has of running for the White House again.
Kerry allowed filmmaker Steve Rosenbaum to film the inner workings of the Kerry campaign and what Kerry's team believed would be a victorious run for the presidency.
Now Rosenbaum has released the documentary, "Inside the Bubble" - and Democrats are likely to give it a decisive thumbs-down.
Boy now that would surprise all of us. NOT
"The film has made such painful viewing that many Democratic insiders - especially those close to rival 2008 candidates - feel Kerry's hopes of the White House have been forever ended," The Guardian newspaper reports.
Unflattering clips from the film show Kerry pretending to interview himself, and babbling in Italian as he waited for a real interview to begin.
Typical kerry...
Senior aides are shown cursing and shouting at reporters. One shot shows Hillary Clinton rolling her eyes after Kerry slips up during a TV debate against George Bush.
In a bizarre moment, top Kerry aide Jim Loftus rants about an advance team's inability to get a pony into a hotel room for a birthday celebration.
He fumes: "When I was an advance guy, if someone said get a pony on the 10th floor of this hotel in four hours' ... I would have said: What color eyes should it have?'"
On election day, as early exit polls pointed to a Kerry victory, Loftus hands over the data and remarks: "They have a word for that, and they usually write it in big black print on the front of newspapers and they call it a (expletive deleted) landslide."
Another aide comments: "I hear they are crying in the White House."
Bush went on to win by three million votes.
Happy Dance time for all conservatives and voters who could see the REAL kerry.
The Guardian states: "There is little doubt that many Democrats (or many potential Democratic voters) will watch the film in horror.
The impression is of a campaign and a candidate who did not really know where it was going or trying to say."
-------------
And as your article points out bear, they STILL don't. Just think they're going to win in 2006 and 2008 by bashing this President. Wrong. LOL

Some are warning the democratic party NOT to keep heading too far left.
Report Warns Democrats Not to Tilt Too Far Left
By Thomas B. Edsall
Washington Post Staff WriterFriday, October 7, 2005; Page A07
The liberals' hope that Democrats can win back the presidency by drawing sharp ideological contrasts and energizing the partisan base is a fantasy that could cripple the party's efforts to return to power, according to a new study by two prominent Democratic analysts.
In the latest shot in a long-running war over the party's direction -- an argument turned more passionate after Democrat John F. Kerry's loss to President Bush last year -- two intellectuals who have been aligned with former president Bill Clinton warn that the only way back to victory is down the center.
Which, of course, we see old hillary attempting.
Democrats must "admit that they cannot simply grow themselves out of their electoral dilemmas," wrote William A. Galston and Elaine C. Kamarck, in a report released yesterday.
"The groups that were supposed to constitute the new Democratic majority in 2004 simply failed to materialize in sufficient number to overcome the right-center coalition of the Republican Party."
Since Kerry's defeat, some Democrats have urged that the party adopt a political strategy more like one pursued by Bush and his senior adviser, Karl Rove -- which emphasized robust turnout of the party base rather than relentless, Clinton-style tending to "swing voters."
But Galston and Kamarck, both of whom served in the Clinton White House, said there are simply not enough left-leaning voters to make this a workable strategy. In one of their more potentially controversial findings, the authors argue that the rising numbers and influence of well-educated, socially liberal voters in the Democratic Party are pulling the party further from most Americans.
On defense and social issues, "liberals espouse views diverging not only from those of other Democrats, but from Americans as a whole.
As we see spoken by our own most extremists here all the time

How funny dave....totally off subject and an almost clean slate when compared to the clinton administration and all those clinton's pardoned.
There's not enough bandwidth to post all their crimes....just the list of names of those he pardon.
Plus 17 indictments in his administration....and this administration has how many?

Oh, but of course, you didn't provide a full list while trying to make a point. Wonder why that would be? LOL

Dave appears to have backed away from supporting his list. There are 14 this President Pardoned. Could you not have posted any others BECAUSE these are the FIRST people/only people he's pardoned????????
And Nader who had support from some American's wrote a letter to the President, asking him to pardon the non-serious drug offenders. Think his supporters have a problem with that?
And last, but by no means least, it's the far left liberals here who have mostly been the ones stating they'd like to see all illegal drugs made legal. So I sure don't see why this President pardoning them would be upsetting to those who agree drugs should be legalized. Unless they'd like to show what hypocrites they are in this area too.
But, of course, Dave obviously doesn't recognize that it's the left that would more support these pardons than those on the right.

You took a nap? LOL...boy that sounds like a lot fun....great life.
And I did google this President's pardon list.....all that came up was the 14 you mentioned....no more.
But of course, that doesn't matter to you....so you then start whining about his father. Want to post something about his Grandfather? That would be just about as irrelevant. LOL

All presidents, clinton included, have pardoned convicted criminals Dave. The nost notorious pardon was of Marc Rich by ole slick willie. Yet no other president in history has pardoned 140 on his last day in office like willie, or had his brother sell pardons as did roger clinton.
I gave my liberal neighbors son a book for his birthday. He went crazy trying to find where to put the batteries.
