Yes, I had 7 cut and hauled from the front lawns.. the wooded area behind the house and on one side still have trees down and some half down.. they will stay that way.. I don't see us going in there and clearing them out. But my neighbors still have trees down all over their properties a horrible mess.. they've leveled the houses but left all the trees and debris.. what a horrible mess... guess we won't be selling this place anytime soon.. property value has taken a plunge..
How about over yonder at your place? Everything back in order? Is it as hot over there as it is here... where the hell is the Fall cool down???

Finally got a visit from the FEMA inspector on Wednesday of last week (6 weeks after the application). Was told it would be 7 to 10 days before I heard anything about the approval.
Thursday I checked the FEMA web site for the status & found it approved. It will pay enough to relevel my barn/storeroom, (wasnt insured), the generator & gasoline I purchased & the time I spent clearing a path to my front gate. Ive been making hardwood charcoal from the debris I cut up & my wife is selling it at the local flea market.
Weather wise, we have a front headed in tomorrow with lows predicted Wed am of 34.

I'm glad that FEMA is going to come through for you Bear.. as I told you before.. they denied our claim.. reason given.. our insurance should have covered all...
So..we learned a valuable lesson..
But hey.. I'm very thankful that our home is standing with only cosmetic damages... we were one of 3 in our little community with only minor damages...lots of trees down, but only minor damage to the house. Hubby is looking forward to having a new barn/shed out building built in the Spring.. I'm taking Cheryl's advice and looking into a wrap around porch..
Oh..cold weather is coming..I wanted cool not freezing!!

We have a gas burning fireplace, Ron. I don't know if pine is a good tree to burn? But yes, they hauled them away.. If anyone wants wood to burn, and if Pine is a good wood to burn, c'mon down, with your chain saws and pick-up, there's enough to keep you in wood for years to come!

Hmmm doesn't say anything about not accepting government money if they made the decision, on thier own, to do so.
As I suspected more bandying about of words people really don't know the meaning of. How cute, almost child-like.
