Anyone know some good geneology/census sites? I know very litte (ok - next to nothing) about my fathers side of the family. I found out his fathers real name when I did a search under her mothers maiden name and found the website of the lawyer who handled their divorce. After doing a little research on his name I finally found it on a site listing WWII deaths in his home state which listed his mothers name as a survivor. I now know that he died in 44 and she is listed as being from Atlanta. Any idea what the next step is in finding out say... who her husband was?
I'd love to find out more about his mother family, I know she had a sister but like my grandmother, she didn't use her real name either.
Someday someone is going to look back at this family and think every generation went into witness protection... no one uses their real names.

The Mormons have the best geneolgical records in the country, as that is a part of their religion, and it's not limited to Mormons.

Also, you might check the larger libraries in your area to see of they have geneaology collections.
