Gotta love Fox sometimes. This morning the Fox & Friends crew (the dark haired guy was a blond in a former life) was griping about the liberal media always focusing in on the negative. Fast forward and hour later and we get one of the talking heads start off an interview with a general in Iraq with...

Tell me what you are hearing today in terms of violence, irregularities...

I'm not sure what I find funnier, some of the questions that the interviewers ask or that quick Are you a complete idiot? look that flashes across the face of the interviewees. You can tell how experienced an interviewee is by their reaction. Some tilt the head just a bit, some the brow gets a scrunch, sometimes it's just in the eyes it's just in the eyes and some show no reaction at all. Those are the ones that worry me. Do they not get how dumbassed some of the questions are (i.e. anything asked by the Dayside Dynamic Dimwits) or are they so used to being asked stupid questions that they no longer think anything of it.

With the voting going on, it seems a valid question. As soon as the voting started there was an explosion in Baghdad supposedly caused by a mortar round.

If worded differently it is a valid question. As worded it is a loaded and leading question which asks, not for an update on the election, but rather for negative news. This is exactly what you and Linda so frequently complain the the LWM does.

Percentage wise I would have to say the main stream liberal media is more negative.

People like negative though, which is a sad commentary on our society.

Missing the point. One minute they are complaining about mainstream media only talking about the negative and the next they start an interview with a question that seeks only negative info.

Wait wait wait... i don;t think I have mentioned Fox for aa couple weeks now. Do you think the same can be said of Bear or Linda and their harping on "Liberal Mainstream Media"?

In this instance I was pointing out what I found to be humorous irony at the time.

At least when I "nitpick" I can relate specific incidents as opposed to generalized sniping statements or cut and paste gerneralized sniping statements such as are usually found here regarding mainstream media?

Want to hear me say something nice? OK Hannity showed that I was right yesterday and he's not really the hard nosed super conservative that he portrays. They had a segment last night regarding a married couple that are illegal immigrants who have come forward and steeping into the light and risked deportation in order to make a plea on behalf of their terminally ill son. The little boy has a rare form of lukemia and is in need of a kidney transplant in the next few weeks or he is going to die. The couple has been here for 10 years, are employed, pay taxes and even have health insurance that will cover the sons expenses, they just are in desperate need of a donor. At the end of what was a very compassionate interview he not only wished them luck for their son but in reconciling their immigration status.

Sean plays the part of hard nosed conservative when it comes to addressing "issues" but when it comes to face to face, personalized situations, the fact that he has a heart tends to sneak thru. The same thing was evident when he was doing one of his border series and recounted spending the day in one of the small mexican border towns when expressed an understanding of those that lived in the conditions that he saw wanting to seek out a better life.

It's MSM - [main stream media].....and yes....most all slat to the liberal side.

THAT'S why so many enjoy watching Fox News....why their ratings continue to grow....there they get to hear some PRO-American commentaries - rather than all the other garbage.

Linda, the original Star Trek series continues to grow but it's not because of the good acting or realistic stage sets.

You mean like the garbage that O'Reilly constantly spews...?

He is constantly adamantly stating exagerations and downright falsehoods.

I emailed him a month or so ago when the dimbulb claimed that a famous massacre committed by German troops was committed by ours--as an example that our country has always regularly used dirty tactics or torture...

And just this week he has been caught in three lies in his continuing ranting about the so-called "war on Christmas." Hilarious.

Personally, I love the tantrums he throws about oh so horrible "liberal whacko" sites who "twist his words" and "constantly attack" him. He hates these sites. Why? Because, due to the Net & technology, he just can't get away with the crap he spews! It galls him that his words are caught for posterity and that anyone can watch the video of what he actually said without the Faux editors cleaning it up. But he still tries, ranting "I never said that! They're lying about me!" Unfortunately for him links abound that take you to the actual videos that show that he did say whatever stupid thing he said on any particular day.

Then you have the other commentators who do things like totally ignore a general who said --on Fox--that dissenting opinions about the war have no effect on troop morale and insist that it does. They know better than the people actually involved, I guess.

And, of course, you get Faux News constantly ranting that other news sources are "one-sided" while they are one-sided themselves...a case of "do as I say, not as I do."

The channel is good as comedy relief, I suppose.

edited to put an "s" where it belonged.

Whether people are watching for pro-American news....or for comedy as you suggest...they're still making it and O'Reilly #1

Each week the Drudgereport.com lists the tv show ratings....and Fox News almost ALWAYS takes top place as #1 through 4-5-6th positions...then come the others.

So...no matter WHY they're watching....Fox News has become quite successful.

Generally calling the media liberal is just another NEOCON conservative lie. We all know most of the media is owned and controlled by conservatives.

Right, Bigpeepa. Where is the liberal media? Even the New York Times and Washington Post are towing the Bush line. Journalists are more conservative that the average American.

I think some of the papers have changed their tune, they know who is actually buying their product

The Columbian is a prime example, now is more of a conservative slant, but after losing many subscribers. Now are regaining those subscribers.
