One misspelled little word....sure changes the topic of this news item.
When She Hauls Around the House, She Hauls Around the House!
"Theft: On Jan. 10, a resident of Wire Bridge Road reported that someone went to his home and stole a green Yamaha Grizzly 600 four-wheeler that was parked under his deck. The vehicle, with a one-ton wench, is valued at $7,240."--"Oconee Police Blotter," Athens (Ga.) Banner-Herald, Jan. 18

Bear-The funny thing is Police blotters are of public record and anyone can go in and read it.
About ten years ago,we had a rookie trooper and his senior man go on a rabid animal complaint.
The troopers came upon a rabid racoon in the middle of the day in someones garage foaming at the mouth. The senior trooper let the rookie shoot the animal to get him some expierence. The rookie trooper aim wasnt on target and instead of hitting him in the head, hit him in the body. The damn racoon started scurrying around the garage,as I take it he wasnt all that happy about being shot at.It took about 4 shots to kill the poor creature. We they got back to the barracks the senior trooper let the rookie trooper make the "blotter entry" as he needed the expierence. Now the correct way to log this in would have been something like this:
"Went to so and so's residence and located rabid racoon in garage and dispatched same."
precise and to the point. The rookie wrote down this:
"went to so and so's house and located rabid racoon and killed same in a "hail of gunfire"
The Sgt on duty was not happy as these are wrtitten in ink and you cant erase or white anything out.The Sgt was pissed, but the rest of us were laughing about that for weeks.
