Helen has brought up a point of contention about being labeled "comrade"
If she is not a communist/socialist and does not have communist/socialist sympathies then I owe her an apology.
Reading some postings made by her would tend to make one believe that is so, but she has made an adamant statement to the contrary.
So I will just ask. Are you a communist Helen? Do you have sympathies for the communist/socialist way of life?
If the answer is "no" then please accept my apology for labeling you as such.

You apparently see me as a communist, based only on the fact that I support universal health care.
Do you use the same exaggeration in your self evaluation and see yourself as a neo-fascist, Ron? If not, do you think that it would be fair if I insinuate that you are a neofacist without basis just as you insinuate that I am a communist without basis?
What about that statement do you not understand? You have NO STATEMENTS that would lead you to believe that I am a Communist or that I sympathize with their philosophy. That offer of an apology was just a deceptive manuever KD to bring up the charge again.

When I first read this news, I thought how similar some of the offenses of this administration are to those found in totalitarian regimes.
In the resolution 1481 of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) issued on January 25, 2006 during its winter session, the Council of Europe "strongly condemns crimes of totalitarian communist regimes".
It condemned "the massive human rights violations committed by totalitarian communist regimes and expressed sympathy, understanding and recognition for the victims of these crimes". It also said these violations "included individual and collective assassinations and executions, death in concentration camps, starvation, deportations, torture, slave labour and other forms of mass physical terror.".

Ron, unlike you I operate in a considerate and reasonable manner. I do not lie and levy false charges by use of innurendo against anyone. For example, If I make an accusation, I have the quote or data with a direct link.
For a charge as serious as the one that you made against me, I would have reams of information avialable.
I have been overlooking most of what you say. Now, I will be more attentive.

All you have to do is relate a national thing to a personal one:
Suppose you work 2 construction jobs and have a nice house. Somebody comes to you and says the construction worker down the street is on welfare and has a shabby house. To equal things out we'll just triple your taxes and give HIM some premo contracts until everybody is "equal".
If these were nations and the subject was Kyoto, I'd be a "neo-con". As a person, I just say: "What do you take me for? An idiot?"
