But seriously, the article says:
"But Topbas and other Turks at the premiere weren’t too concerned about how the movie would be perceived in the United States.
“There isn’t going to be a war over this,” said Nefise Karatay, a Turkish model lounging on a sofa after the premiere. “Everyone knows that Americans have a good side. That’s not what this is about.”
I'm not sure this is really any worse than American-made movies like "Collateral Damage" or "Secret Lies" that feature middle-eastern bad guys. This does not sound like a propaganda movie, just fiction for entertainment. Naturally the foreigners are the bad guys.
I guess it's all in how you want to look at it. This one was made in Turkey, by Turkeys, for Turkeys.
What bugs me are movies made in America for Americans that belittle American troops and undermine the war effort, like those by George Clooney and Sean Penn. THOSE are the real problem films.
