Whats really sad is that people actually fall for this kind of thing.

This may sound strange and unbelievable to you

A total stranger leaving me 9+ million? Nah, nothing strange or unbelievable about that. Happens at least once a month.

he must have been in contact with you in the past

I wonder what kind of "contact" I would have had to have in order to be left 9 mill.

you were nominated to him by one of his distant relatives abroad who wished you good as he was only very found of you and his only regret was that he never had the chance to meet with you face to face

Ahh, I see. Perfectly logical explaination. Although the pronoun usage is a little spotty and I prefer all my letters enclosing $9 million to be grammatically correct.

Engr.Mark Billings until his death was a former managing director and pioneer staff of a giant construction company.

I guess that didn't come up when he and I had our "contact."

and his "WILL" is now ready for execution

That seems a little harsh - what about life without the chance or parole?

Good grief. Anyway, I always enjoy these kinds of emails and have several email accounts created to respond to them. Its fun to try to scam the scammers. There are websites devoted to people who scam the scammers and some of them are hilarious. Anyway, I decided to respond to "Mrs. Mcewen" by simply sending her an email as though she sent me the email listed in the OP. So I sent her the following:

Mrs. Barbara Mcewen, Esq.:

First, let me say how shocked I am at the sudden and tragic passing of Mr. Billings. I am not exactly sure how you obtained my email address but I am grateful that you did otherwise I would not have heard this tragic news. Please extend my heart-felt condolences to any of his associates, yourself included, and let me know if there is anything I can do from here, in the United States.

As for the money, it doesn't surprise me a bit that Mark would leave such a generous sum of money to me. As you well know, he was a giver, first and foremost, and he used to kid me about one day leaving me a large sum. However, I did keep a small secret from Mark during the several times he and I made contact. You see, I am extremely wealthy in my own right. In fact, while $9 million dollars is certainly a large sum of money, I really do not need it and would feel quite guilty taking it. As I never told Mark my net worth, he likely had no idea that I have my own business.

Therefore, I must insist you find someone more needy than I to give the $9 million dollars to. If there are legal complications doing that, please let me know and perhaps I can figure a way to use the money. Again, I am so sorry to get this news today. Mark Billings was a good man - the best of men. Its so unfair when bad things happen to good people. God bless you, Mrs. Mcewen and please take care.

Sincerely,

Lucas Ford

So we'll see if I get a response back. If so, I'll post my exchanges with "her" here.

That is priceless. I thought of responding but figured it would just give away one of my throw away emails and get swamped with more crap then have to make up another one. I thought of giving out an enemy's address and phone number but then thought that a bad idea. I usually don't read the spam but wanted to see what scam was going around lately.

Let us know what if any response you get. Be interesting to see.
