Hey Bear, did you blow away? Did the storms get ya?

They passed through here last night and what a bumpy ride it was, wind gusts of over 70 MPH, torrential rain, deadly lightning.. We were under a tornado warning until 1 AM ... you should see my bedroom walk in closet..it looks like a bunker...pillows, comforters, bottled water, flashlights, batteries etc.etc..

The worst is my big dog passes terrible gas when she is nervous and OMG.. I don't think I'd survive being hunkered down in a closet with her! I think I'd have to take my chances with the tornado..LOL

Glad you survived unscathed & nun the worse for wear, other than the nerves.

Good thing you didnt have to light candles with all that gas wafing around.

Winds wasnt really that bad here Maggie and didnt loose elect service. Started here about 2 AM Sat am. My 13 yo Yorkie is terrified of thunder but has gotten hard of hearing, so it didnt bother him. My Toy Fox terrier just crawled deeper under the bed covers.

We drove into Houston for a gunshow with it raining like in a hurricane. Passed seven auto wrecks between Willis & Houston, 1 of which happened 2 lanes over from us. Some people refuse to slow down on the freeways when it gets really bad.

By mid day it had cleared up to sunny skies.

Glad to hear you and yours are okay too.
I can't believe you ventured out in the storm!

Bear, I didn't know you had a yorkie..!!

I think I told you that I had to have my two yorkies put down last year. I still haven't got over it and probably never will. They were old and in very poor health at the end. My female had had seven surgeries and my male had knee surgeries..I just loved them with all my heart.
My catahoula is a hunting dog, but old herself now and she was always my hubby's dog...more than mine. I like the little ones, especially Yorkies, they have such funny personalities, small as a rat but courageous as lion.

Well I had to get out in the weather, money is money.

We have had 3 Yorkies. The first one "Baby" was a mama's girl & she passed in 96, burried her in a little coffin I made for her. When we moved up to New Waverly, I went back & got her & placed her next to my great dane "Duster".

And there is "Radar", now 13 yo and definately a my dog. And Storm was our other yorkie, (five pounds of teeth with the disposition of a doberman), Radars daughter. She passed last month at 12 yo, now she's out with Duster & her mother Baby.

That leaves us with Sugar our Sheltie & a pretty good watch dog. She doesnt miss much of wht is happening around here & lets us know when it happens.

Squirt our 4 pound long haired Chahuahua is another mama's girl. She's as spoiled rotten as can be.

Little Guy is the TFT my wilfe found last year after almost running over him.

I spent 2 months looking at Houston lost dog ads and calling vets in the area where he was found trying to find his owners. By that time he had become so attached I couildnt bear taking him to a shelter and not knowing what would happen to him.

WIllis is about 8 miles north of Conroe on I 45 & I'm about 12 miles NW of Willis in the edge of the Sam Houston National Forest.

Well, see we have something in common! I love dogs too. My cur is a rescue dog. I have never lived anywhere, where they treat animals as badly as they do her in MS.

I'd have a house full but Mr.Boom won't allow it.. when he was growing up, dogs were kept outdoors only..so it's been quite an adjustment for him to accept the dogs we've had as indoor pets....and he'd have a stroke if I ever suggested getting a cat.

That's right I was thinking of Waller.

Radar isnt what you would call a small Yorkie. At 15 pounds he's the size of the original breed before they were bred down. Baby & Storm were small Yorkies at about 4 1/2 pounds.

Five inside dogs are the most we have ever had at one time, other than a litter of puppie and that is enough for us.

I'm not a cat person, something about them sends my allergies into overdrive.
