Lets say you subscribe to Netflix,is it legal to make copy of your favorite movie using your own PC with the Netflix copy?
Some one posted on Vendio once that he used to own and operate movie rental store and he would make copies of the movies he rented to build his own personal collection.

Technically this is illegal as it is a copyright infringement. However, to copy for your own use. As long as no one else is involved and you don't sell it or loan them out, kind of falls into the don't ask, don't tell arena.

Not only no but hell no it's not legal. Why I do believe it's not even legal to talk about it on an internet message board. You know, all those conspiracy, racketeering and file sharing charges that the FCC might bring against us.
Psssst FCC, i'm not really here, my account has been hijacked by some pimple faced 14 year old kid in his parents house, somewhere in the midwest.

So many people who can burn dvd on their pc,I just wonder what are they burning?
Some sell them on internet,I have come across a woman on Yahoo auction selling VHS tape of a foreign movie for 5 dollars, she even included a picture of herself!

Stone that only applies if you own the original copy. It is against copy right rules to make a copy of a rental dvd.
Even DVDXcopy asks if this is a rental or borrowed copy LOL.
Tecnically if you sell the original you are supposed to destroy the back up.
Pii, now you should know that on the internet those who umm shall we say increase their personal collections, through other means other than buying, refer to the term "backing up".
Hwahwa, some moves have come out of copy right protection, I believe there is a time limit.
I know people sellling movies on eBay make that claim.
I do know it would not be worth the hassle to get caught ans possibly prosecuted.

Your dvd burner on your computer is supossed to be for making home movies. You know like you and your wife's swinger sex party love fest movies and such. Or if you're really imaginative you could follow the dog around all day with a camcorder, hoping to capture some film footage of him doing something strange. You would then burn a dvd of it and send it in to America's Funniest Animals and possibly win a prize.
