"Good I can't stand the peg-leg witch."

What a VILE statement. And a VERY DEGRADING insult to all amputees. But coming from maggie....not unusual.

--------------

In Bear's article, Paul addresses those who believe she was a 'gold digger'. That, imo, shows he respects her even if they might not be able to repair their relationship.

But maybe they will be able to do so down the road.

I'm sorry but anyone that bleieves that a nearly $400 million dollar settlement on a 4 year marriage when the money was brought into the marriage, not made during it and the mother is quite capable of making a healthy amount herself is absolutely ridiculous. the only way I would buy that she is not a gold digger is if she said she didn't want it and was willing to take a tenth of that, most going to trust for their daughter.

How interesting Linda - you don't know Ward Churchhill at all and yet you have been pretty outspoken about your opinion on him.

$400 million is a lot of money, but one thing to remember, there is a child involved. What about her? The money thing is a bargain for McCartney when you toss that into the mix. How about the upbringing of the little girl? Kids need both parents and none of this every other weekend bullcrap either. Kids need both parents at least 50% of the time. I hope they can work out a reasonable custody schedule for her.

Don't let it piss you off fenix that HE feels differently about his own wife than you do.

It's your problem. I just pointed out how HE feels....what HIS public statement on the 'gold digger' issue is. IF that bothers you so much....too bad.

classic....I remember you once said you don't click on links. But if you had read Bear's article...it states pre-nups don't matter much there anyway. So...maybe that's why he didn't ask for one. ????

edited to add the article part that relates:

Sir Paul and Lady McCartney did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement before their wedding in 2002. Lawyers said that it would have had little force under British law anyway.

Yes, BECAUSE he earned it for working for them for 42 years. Divided by years worked....it's not much compared to other 'retirement' packages CEO's are currently getting.

Never meant to imply it wasn't a lot of money. Just that over 42 years of bringing the growth and company worth he did to that company....he earned it, imo.

Nice deflection attempt Linda, but a little too obvious. I didn't actually say anything about McCartney.

But I do understand how you might want to divert people attention of complete hypocrit you managed to make of yourself as you criticize someone for judging a stranger in one thread even as you even as you do EXACTLY that in another.

Stone - are you telling me that you think it costs 5400 million to raise a child? the child is his heir and when the time comes will recieve her share of his estate. There is reaonable reason for mom to take it all now.

Fenix,

Not at all. But the way the court system is set up, and with the Paul Mac is making, $400 million is a bargain. One thing to remember, there is no limit on what child support can be. And with what he makes in a year, it could cost him dearly. One more thing to remember, in a divorce, expenses are not considered. Only income.

You're right Linda,I rarely click on links.
Maybe pre-nups dont mean much over there.
As far as the scumbag from Exxon getting 400 million-its absurd, especially when I have to pay thru the nose for gas and I have no alternative. If some execute from Hersheys gets 400 million,I could care less,I dont have to eat Hershey bars...but then again thats for another thread.

And whether or not YOU can see the difference between what Paul said about his wife HIMSELF or not.....has nothing to do with MY opinion on Ward being a FRAUD and a jerk.

IF you want to defend him and his fraudulent actions....go for it fenix.

Yes but Stone you are forgetting that even the American courts consider what assets were brought into the marriage differently from what was made duriing the marriage. The vast majority of his fortune was made long before she came along. I think it would be hard to justify in anyones mind a 25% award of a lifetime of earnings for a five year marriage.

classic.....well we just disagree.

The oil companies are only making a net profit of $0.88 a gallon. I don't feel that's too much. And IF they spend it on 'thanking' their CEO's who brought great success to their company...in a free capitalist society...imo, it's their choice.

NOW....want to discuss how much in taxes you're paying for each gallon? It's the local, state and Feds that are making BIG bucks off of you. Anywhere from $.40 to $.60 a gallon.

That IS wrong, imo.

Gasoline costs so much because the liberals haven't allowed refineries to be build for over 30 years. Slows down ability to turn oil into fuel. That is the biggest culprit imo. Environmentalists......have kept back building new refineries.

The courts have NOT YET decided how much they'll award her.

Secondly.....you're speaking about American law....they don't live here.

"Sir Paul and Lady McCartney did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement before their wedding in 2002. Lawyers said that it would have had little force under British law anyway."

Why are YOU so upset about it when he doesn't appear to be and it's HIS money.

Linda - Could you kindly stop trying to project emotions upon me.

I does not "piss me off" as you tried to assert earlier... nor does it "upset" me. I think the notion of it is ridiculous but I'm not taking it personally.

Fenix,

You are confusing Alimony and Child Support. You are 100% correct when it comes to Alimony, but way off on the child support issue. That is where Paul could get hit extremely hard. And yes, we can raise children for far less than $400 million, but in the courts eyes, it don't matter. In reality, child support is really alimony through the back door.

No Stone - I am not confusing wither... mainly because the article refers to the award given to her. Child Support is a seperately awarded amount that would be over and above the previously stated possible settlement.

I see what you are stating. It is likely the agreement would include money for child support, but this is info that will likely have to be worked out between the parties. Still, my bigger point is for Paul to keep the Judge out of the deal.
