"Lipstick Lesbians" are the more feminine, girlie or glamorous types (think Portia deRossi) and opposed to the "Dyke" type that are more butch (i.e. RosieO'Donnell)

No Colin - that is why she is being described as a lipstick lesbian.
Don't you pay attention?

I wear flannel shirts, comfortable khakis and Birkenstock's. Holy Sh!t! I'm a Lesbian??!!
Maybe that's why I've had so many husbands, I haven't been marrying the right gender! Who'd of guessed!

And you can thank Rev Colin for helping you find your true self Mags.
I never pictured you as a Birkenstock kinda gal Mags... I figured Tevas and maybe a pair of Crocs... maybe a pair of old Kedds as you explore the neighborhood.

She don't like sex because she's having it with the wrong gender.
Bebo, are you a closet carpet muncher?
It all makes sense now. Whenever I read Bebo telling someone to STFU, I hear it in a big, burly, lumberjack, female, butchy, sounding voice and it kinda..........scares me.

This DC Comics return of Batwoman as a Lesbian just goes to show the further decline in society, that the people that control the media want to now get the youth who read comics, prepared for Gays and Lesbians being as accepted lifestyles within society. I see it as an attack on our youth to somehow glamorize abhorent behaviour. Or it's some kind of a recruitment tool for the future.

You got that right pii, hopefully it will go the way of comics that don't sell. Into the waste basket.

I love this theory. It cracks me up. I mean, in order to recruit, you have to be able to sell the product. Problem is that there are not many positives to being gay in america. You can be descriminated against based on sexual preferenmce, in many states intercourse is illegal, you have no right to be married, no right of survivorship, you are consistantly attacked by complete strangers, assumed to be a pedophile by many.... shall we go on?
So what... you think that someone believes that the possibility of someday being portrayed as a cartoon charachter is going to be the big plus that will overcome all of that?

It's a tool to recruit future voters into a block of voters that are sympathetic to gays and lesbians even if they never become gay or lesbian. By starting the process of showing young boys and girls that a homosexuasl lifestyle is ok, it plants ideas in their heads so that in the future they will vote based on things learned at an earlier age when their minds were at their most impressionable.

You mean that children may learn that sexual preference may not be the most legitimate basis on which to judge a persons worth?
..and this is a bad thing because....?

It's a bad thing because the whole concept of sex is being introduced to children at younger and younger ages. Rather than to take a story and just let children be children and to be able to immerse themseves in harmless fantasy. But no, the people that have agendas of pushing certain sexual lifestyles on people choose to do so with children.
Leave the children alone and don't push sexual lifestyles onto them. Just let them be children.

Pi - she's a lesbian superhero... not a prostitute. She's not screwing people on every page, it's just that her love interest isa not going to be male. If parents don't want their kids exposed to sexuality, they probably should not be buying them comics books but I don't think anyone is going to claim to that 38-22-30 blond wearing a torn bikini is wholesome entertainment and that's about all you see of the female persuasion in comic books.
I wonder if since you feel that sexuality should not be a comic book subject if you also object to Superman and Lois Lane or the Wolverine, Cyclops, Jane Grey love triangle?

The difference is that Superman, Lois Lane, Wolverine, Cyclops or Jane Grey are not refered to by their sexual preference. So why is it that Batwoman or any other homosexual has to be refered to by their sexual preference, included within their title or name? The answer is simple and I have already stated it. Even you cannot just refer to her as just a superhero. You have to include the word "Lesbian" in her title.

More than just young people who might be interested in comic books....are the pro-gay people we have running our school systems now - in charge of deciding what goes into their texts and what doesn't.
They're not waiting until the children are older....they're already, currently, reading to them about different 'family' choices/types. They're doing this NOW to our children who can't even read themselves yet.
Yep...I agree....working to make the lifestyle MORE acceptable to our youngest children.
I call that indoctrination myself. Just like the Nazi's did to turn their own parents in if they weren't following the 'orders'.
Because in reality that's exact what they're doing. Whether some parents want them to or not.
AND in addition to that....now some school districts are re-writing their school texts so they don't mention [ they have REMOVED] the words "mom" and "dad"....don't want the children to think that's a 'normal' lifestyle anymore either.
Nope we now have to 'cater' to the tiny minority in society and go AGAINST what the majority of American's want done.
Besides it MIGHT
offend some child that has two daddies or two mommies, rather than one of each.
Total crap....and nothing more than indoctrinating our youngest to accept what they support/believe in.
It's wrong...and it IS further decline of our society, imo.

It's not just a 'theory'. It's exactly what the gay/lesbians are encouraging NOW.
They're telling/encouraging children/teens too 'experiment' with their own sex....after all...they might like it. They won't know until they've tried it....goes the 'garbage'.
Of course they use other excuses....but read a few gay websites...and it's clear they're trying to bring more into their 'fold'. Sick

They are not adding Lesbian to her name, the way you know is that part of her backstory involves a FORMER romance with an existing female charachter. She is not Batwoman:Super Lesbian of Justice, she's just Batwoman.

WoW, is this comic a bigger threat to you now than the movie, Brokeback Mountain was? So..... did that movie make any of you gay? Did it make any of your family or friends gay? Batwoman is a super hero with super powers ......... you better be careful.

Awwww........... what's wrong, twelvepole/ronnie? Was Batwoman your secret crush all your life and now you realize you'll never have a chance with her either.

Does Batwoman have superpowers?
Batman is a rich guy with lots of cool toys and gadgets. (I read Archie back in the day.) My Batman was the TV show. So I may not be hip on everything.

Oh and BTW, I have been known to wear flannel, khakis and Birks.....at the same time. I'm not a lesbian, at least I don't think I'm a lesbian. Maybe this comic book will help me with any questions I may end up having....the kind that hide deep in my subconcious.

Ronnie, I'm not a lesbian......... not even a Canadian lesbian...... so I hope that doesn't crush your ongoing fantasy too much. Would it help you to know that if I'd have been born a lesbian I'd probably be a more girlie one though? lol
