From NPR:

Lionel Richie: The Key to Peace in the Middle East

Day to Day, December 4, 2006 · As U.S. leaders struggle to communicate with people in the Middle East, they might look to musician Lionel Richie for inspiration.

In the current issue of GQ magazine, writer Andrew Corsello reports that Richie has become a musical phenomenon in the Arab world. """

Heard that the Shiites and Sunnis ARGEE on his music, they love it! Maybe Richie should be a negotiator....

And I KNOW everyone in here IS old enough to remember him....

No, he can't bring peace to the Middle East...no one can...

PEACE is NOT the plan....

However, even the little children over there adore him and follow him everywhere.....he does bring a few minutes of peace to these poor kids...

and I do think it's odd that his music is so popular there....what's wrong with Elvis ???
