Oh bebe, I can't believe you never made anything just for yourself and enjoyed it??!!!
I hate cooking, too, but if I get hungry enough I'm capable of anything including cooking!!!!

I've made pots of chili (hot chili) that were so good that instead of just one bowl for dinner I would eat three or four. I have a secret ingredient that I add to a pot of green chili that makes it come out creamy and it kind of helps to calm the burn from the heat of the chili.

It's a common (secret) ingredient that can be found in most refrigerators. Lestwise the jar has printed on it's label to refrigerate after opening.

What WERE you thinking, Kraft? Dirty girl.

When my husband isn't home for supper, there are two things I like to fix for myself:

* Hormel chili (spicy, WITH beans) on cooked pasta. (We always called it chili mac.) Topped with a few drops of tabasco.

* Cheese and sliced onion sandwich (not broiled), with a capful of vinegar poured over the onion slices.

I know, they both sound awful, right? But they're comfort food for me.

The best "simple" meal.....

Tomato Soup with a Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Best meal....And I made it....

Lobster, Corn on the Cob, Baked Potato, etc.....
(We lived in Mass. You could buy a 2 lb fresh lobster for $6.)

A couple of years ago I got a small George Foreman grill and it makes a fast grilled cheese sandwich. Except when I was in too much of a hurry I started using those terrible Kraft cheese slices that Profe warned us about and I kind of felt guilty for eating that crap. Today I used real cheddar. Maybe I should find that cheese article that Profe posted that time in case I fall off the wagon again.

It's a heaping table spoon of real mayo and a squirt of vinegar.

It's shake and bake and I halped.

Thanks, Pi. I guessed right on the mayo, at least! Interesting idea.

Kiara: How long do you do the toasted cheese sandwich on your grill? I have the grill but have never tried toasted cheese.

Roadsmith, I preheat the grill for about 3 or 4 minutes and then the sandwich only takes about 4 minutes or so. I never time it exactly and sometimes I get distracted but they've never burned if I've left them in there a bit longer.

At first I didn't care for them to be quite so flattened but now I've got used to it. Certainly not the best meal but works for me when I'm in a hurry.

My favorite is to take 2 or 3 frozen chicken breasts, throw them into a crock pot with a jar of salsa. Wait 14 to 20 hours and mash with a fork. Spoon a bit onto a tortilla with a bit of cheese and kill the whole pot! Any salsa works, but for fun, I hit the Gormet section of the store and try out new combos, Sweet onion and mango was good. Raspberry salsa was amazing. you name it, I've tried it, and without fail, it is good.

Shame on you kiara, but good save on going back to the real cheddar. Just say no to processed cheese-like substances.
