I agree that unless she can be ignored by every single member nothing will change. And, like at OTWA that kind of cooperation to ignore is not possible. Even a concentrated effort failed miserably.

I think that Linda fails to see that this is not a liberal/conservative political issue. This is about a large faction of this board wanting to preserve decency and comradery. Anyone can deal with her opposing viewpoint but her constant and unrelenting personal slander is unacceptable. Her problem is that without personal attacks she would have little to say. If you remove her efforts to emphasize her comments and efforts to insult you would be left with basically nothing.
So, I believe that from her viewpoint she is doing the best that she can with what she has to work with. She has learned some evasive tactics to hide her lack of knowledge. She uses caps and bold letters to emphasize what she lacks in substance. And she dodges the topic with personal attacks because she has no other substantive option.
She sincerely believes that in order to win an argument that she must attempt to trash the opponent's character.

Her latest tactic for attack is perhaps the silliest. Just because another poster avoids her or does not post their views on a certain topic she decides their beliefs for them and then attacks them as if they really voiced that belief. She defends her actions by saying that she's never seen that poster say otherwise so that's how she sees them so will respond accordingly.

Kiara, I agree her approach just like some of the others on the right think they can prove the negative, which is always impossible to prove.
There biggest line of reasoning is that if you are against Bush and speak out against the war, you are automatically not supportive of the truth.
Their latest one is that because Osama has not given any message he must be dead.
But yet when it comes to being a safer country, then right away give Bush all the credit. They reason that because WE HAVE NOT BEEN ATTACKED, it is because of what has been done since 9/11.
If these people were scientists, they would be the laughing stock of their profession. They offer no evidence at all to support their conclusions. Instead they offer fear, doom and gloom when it suits their reasoning. This is the same tactic of the Republican party. The scare tactics worked in 2000 and 2004 but the American people are beginning to wake and realize that saying the same thing over and over without and results will obly get you so far.

All it would take is an agreement to ignore her...I don't think it's a question of whether we CAN ignore her, it's just a matter of who's willing to. For some of us, myself included a few times, the temptation to yank her chain and watch her spin off into delirium is pretty hard to resist.

I would probably post more if Linda were not here. Long ago I grew tired of her bile so I stopped posting my opinion. I tried to out bile her but that is impossible so I just quit. I never went away (I use vendio services) I just stopped posting. I did not change my POV, which is by the way left of liberal and remain a proud member of the ACLU Northern California Chapter. I never complained to Vendio as I hate rats I just read the threads (sometimes in total disbelief).
I can only say that change begins with one person and radiates outward.
