Osama is 'Obama' on CNN graphics
Cable network apologizes for 'bad typographical error'

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., not Osama bin Laden

CNN is apologizing today after the cable news outlet confused Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., with terrorist Osama bin Laden in on-screen graphics last night reading, "Where's Obama?"

The error took place on Wolf Blitzer's news program, "The Situation Room, " and both Blitzer and CNN's Soledad O'Brien offered separate apologies during the network's morning show today.

CNN blamed its graphics department for what it called a "bad typographical error."

"We want to apologize for that bad typo," Blitzer said. "We also want to apologize personally to Sen. Barack Obama. I'm going to be making a call to him later this morning to offer my personal apology."

According to the Associated Press, Tommy Vieto, Obama's press secretary, said he appreciated the bloggers and activists who brought the error to light so quickly and helped make sure it was corrected.

"Though I'd note that the 's' and 'b' keys aren't all that close to each other, I assume it was just an unfortunate mistake, and don't think there was any truly malicious intent," Vieto told AP.

This is not the first time Obama has been confused with Osama bin Laden.

Obama's fellow Democrat Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts had trouble distinguishing the two at the National Press Club in January 2005.

Kennedy had given a speech and was asked a question, to which he responded: "There you go. Why don't we just ask Osama bin Laden? Uh, Osama Obama! (giggles) Obama what is – since he won by such a big amount."

Based on that verbal blunder by Kennedy, radio host Rush Limbaugh helped produce a parody song where a Kennedy soundalike was having great difficulty telling the difference between Obama and Osama.

LOL...yea I read about that and his admission this morning.

Guess when he wrote that book he wasn't thinking of running for any political office. lol

But, imo, it won't make one bit of difference to the radical liberal/progressive left.

They approve of such usage UNLESS it's by a republican. ROFLOL

They have MANY double standards.

HILLARY PREDICTS: OBAMA CANDIDACY WILL DIMINISH

Tue Jan 02 2007 18:56:42 ET

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton views Barack Obama as her biggest obstacle to nomination, the NEW YORK TIMES is planning to report, but she believes the threat of his candidacy will diminish -- as voters learn how inexperienced he is in government and foreign affairs!

NYT reporter Adam Nagourney has filed a high-impact story, newsroom sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

Publication time: Unknown.

Clinton has engaged in a series of nearly nonstop political consultations since Election Day, in what her advisers say are preparations for, in all likelihood, announcing her interest in running for president. [That announcement could come in weeks.]

Dining recently with allies in New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton was "probing and absorbing, and clearly informed," reports Nagourney.

The topic turned to the Democratic sweep in New Hampshire in November.

Hillary wanted to know how the Democrats managed to unseat the state's two Republican members of Congress, and what were the key issues?

Clinton told Democrats that she viewed her two strongest potential Democratic opponents as Obama and John Edwards.
Developing..
"While the democratic party complains about everything THIS President does to protect our Nation": "What would a Democrat president have done at that point?"

"Apparently, the answer is: Sit back and wait for the next terrorist attack."

I do not know much about Obama -- just thought T.Kennedys statement was hilarious.
Obama seems to be very intelligent and may be a great candidate.

As for Hiliary -- well she is not "all that" like she thinks she is. Obama would be the better of the two.

The best one though will probably not get the support of the Democratic party _J Edwards. He is a decent man.

The election is theirs to win or lose. The Democratic party is known to beat itself -- by choosing the wrong person to run.

Edwards-Obama or Obama-Edwards may be the ticket to the White House.

It is a lot of time left, more will enter the race. Gore and Kerry, probably will. They are both Democrat Party favorites but spell certain success for the Democrats to BLOW an almost failproof bid for the Presidency.
Yep(*IMO*) only the Democrats can beat the democrats

I do hope the republicans do not EVEN THINK about running Lil Bro Bush

I do like McCain and Giuliani-either man could be a good candidate.
I do not like it that McCain favors this "surge of troops" but who knows

Since when was it a requirement to have experience in foreign affairs?

I wonder how much experience any of our former presidents had in foreign affairs before becoming president.

I know the last two presidents did not have much experience. It especially shows with the current president.

Hopefully no matter who the dems nominate it will be someone who's NOT still 'wet' behind the ears....like edwards nor obama. But rather someone who has a tiny bit of domestic AND foreign policy experience.

Giuliani will be a very strong Candidate. Obama or Osama whatever the name is a good talker, but would he be competent? Hard to say.

Clinton would be a great choice for Republicans. She is clearly incompetent.

Mingo, you should have stated "like those in the Bush administration who had no idea of what they were doing before they had gotten into this mess."

I see rocks for brains is finally admitting the Republicans are clearly incompetent. It has only taken him 6 years to change his tune.

Stone said "Clinton would be a great choice for Republicans. She is clearly incompetent."

Yep, and the Democrats may just nominate her! (hehehe)
Republicans hope that happens. She is not the "man" to be President
