Bush Offers Democrats Conciliatory Words

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - President Bush squarely addressed the issue most on the mind of House Democrats, saying Saturday that deep divisions over the Iraq war need not bring anyone's patriotism into question.
"You know, I welcome debate in a time of war and I hope you know that," Bush said in opening remarks at the guest speaker at a retreat that drew about 200 lawmakers to a Virginia resort.
He said disagreeing with him over the war _ as many in the room do _ does not mean "you don't share the same sense of patriotism I do."
"You can get that thought out of your mind, if that's what some believe," the president said. "These are tough times, but there's no doubt in my mind that you want to secure this homeland as much as I do."

For those who didn't get my attempt at light-hearted sarcasm my congratulations were for bush's perfect record. Nothing more...I do not congratulate him for the horror of his many mistakes that have caused so much misery, blood shed, death and havoc.
Of course he's not sincere and I didn't imply that....I just said that he SAID something intelligent....and I certainly didn't mean to imply HE WAS intelligent !!
Yes, I believe he's trying to appease the middle and put distance between himself and the wacked out neocons who think that everyone should feel the same way and agree with everything their ruler says....like good little Communists.

No surprise you'd THINK that. Remember it's coming from your mind...KNOWN for twisting everything.
I don't happen to agree with him on this issue. Just as I don't on other things he's said and done.
But that's just so difficult for you to grasp, since you're ALWAYS going around LYING about me worshiping him, agreeing with everything he says and does....when it's not true.
