"""Gates: U.S. Can Prove Iran's Iraq Role
Updated 9:03 AM ET February 9, 2007
By LOLITA C. BALDOR
SEVILLE, Spain (AP) - Serial numbers and markings on explosives used in Iraq provide "pretty good" evidence that Iran is providing either weapons or technology for militants there, Defense Secretary Robert Gates asserted Friday.
Offering some of the first public details of evidence the military has collected, Gates said, "I think there's some serial numbers, there may be some markings on some of the projectile fragments that we found," that point to Iran."""
"pretty good"
"some"
"either weapons or technology" (OK, which is it ?)
"fragments" (of their imaginations)
"point to"
That's their "PROOF" ???
Don't worry though, if that doesn't work they can always say they want to bring democracy to Iran (whether they want it or not ).

"That's their proof"?
Gates said they will be giving a more detailed report in the very near future. I believe he said by next week.
And there's NO DENYING that Iranians HAVE been captured in Iraq. The first two they released back to Iran...the last four they KEPT.

Linda, since the Iranians DIDNT have the WMD on their persons, you know the left will never acknowledge they possess the weapons.

OOOHHH!!! Iranians ...right in the COUNTRY next to theirs!!!!!
WHY! According to repugs that's all ya need to slaughter more Americans in another "Really Bad Idea" war!!!
Relax, you guys, I'm sure you'll get your war in Iran...it was planned so long ago......

I agree, Bear. IF they were EVER to acknowledge those weapons...then they'd have to DO something about it. Or admit they're to cowardly to do anything.
The ones on the radical left are the ones that SCARE me the most though. They continue saying/asking: "IF we have them...why can't Iran. Like that's only fair....and they see NO difference between our Nation and Iran.

Just last week, Gates said that U.S. military officers in Baghdad were planning to brief reporters on what is known about Iranian involvement in Iraq but that he and other senior administration officials had intervened to delay the briefing in order to assure that the information provided was accurate.
Speaking to reporters at a defense ministers conference here, Gates said Friday, "I don't think there was surprise that the Iranians were actually involved, I think there was surprise we actually picked up some."
He and other U.S. officials have said for some time that Iranians, and possibly the government of Iran, have been providing weapons technology, and possibly some explosives to Iraqi insurgents.
The improvised explosive devices (IEDs) have been a leading killer of U.S. forces in Iraq, where more than 3,000 servicemen and women have died in the nearly four-year-old war.
Gates, who is attending his first NATO defense ministers meeting, said Iran is "very much involved in providing either the technology or the weapons themselves for these explosively formed projectiles. Now they don't represent a big percentage of the IED attacks but they're extremely lethal."
Gates said the raids combined with the movement of an additional U.S. aircraft carrier into the Persian Gulf have created a stir, but said the Bush administration has no intention of attacking Iran.

Yes, I'd read that too.
And now, the madman from Iran is beating his chest, once again, and is telling the world that he has missiles that can reach our carriers.
Wonderful.
Weren't they supposed to have elections in the near future that MIGHT hopefully elect someone with a little more SANITY? I know I'd read about their upcoming elections....just can't remember when they were to take place.
But whenever they ARE....I hope they're coming up soon. Because IF this continues then we might just HAVE take out their NW sites.

Hey Bigpeepa, wouldn't it have been better if the bushits HADN'T outed their secret CIA agent who was deeply involved in Iran and their weapons.....???
Gee, ya think maybe she knew TOO much...or maybe just the "WRONG" stuff ???

Let me get this straight. Our whack pack members here do not believe Iran is behind virtually ALL of the conflict in the Middle East(and has been)?

Come on Squirrel, Iran might be the most vocal, but what about NK, Africa and China? Sometimes the obvious isn't obvious at all.

We are talking about the Middle East. And in any case, Iran is a much bigger threat than all of those countries put together.
There are now 2 carrier task forces in the area. The majority of the world is focused on this area. There have been many meetings with US diplomatic and military personel with Turkey, Poland, Great Britian, France, etc.
Supposedly Israel has said they will give the US and its allies 6 months, after which they will eliminate the threat.
