Just read an article last night -Singapore,Thailand and India are known to treat foreign patients ,they are gearing up for more .
Singapore is more expensive so they plan to take on the more complex procedures and leave the whimpy ones such as facelift etc to the Thai.
Of course Indian has some nice hospitals and medica staff and will come to the airport and arrange sightseeing tours for the family and the patient too if he/she is up to it.
Blue Cross and Blue shield of Carolina will consider lowering health premium if insured is willing to consider going overseas for treatment, other insurers are looking into it as well.
I always wonder why cant someone establish facility in the Carribeans and entice the American doctors to take turns serving there,or how about a floating clinic??

A friend of ours with good insurance needed two ankle replacements last year. No one in this country is doing that procedure yet, so he flew to Switzerland on his own dime, paid for the surgery from a dr. who's written the book on the subject and has developed the appliance for the replacement. Insurance never paid a dime. However, that was probably as expensive as it would have been here.
