I didn't believe my eyes today, seeing Karl Rove "dancing" and rapping at the press correspondents' dinner. Cannot wait to see what Stewart-Colbert have to say about that. He looked like a fool.

Karl Rove rocks the house in hip-hop debut
Reuters
By Lisa Lambert Thu Mar 29, 11:58 AM ET
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
Presidential adviser by day, rapper by night: Karl Rove rocked the house in his hip-hop debut on an evening of rare levity for an administration under fire.
The balding, bespectacled Rove was given a standing ovation at an annual broadcast journalists' awards dinner on Wednesday night when he danced and posed with his Blackberry during an improvised rap skit.
As boss
President George W. Bush looked on, Rove gamely flapped about the stage as comedian Brad Sherwood described his favourite pastimes: "Listen up suckas, don't get the jitters, but MC Rove tears the heads off of critters."
Rove had told Sherwood that he liked to hunt, collect stamps and "tear the heads off of small animals."
Rove, 56, is the architect of Bush's two presidential election wins and often decried by critics as a ruthless political operative.
But Snoop Dogg and other rappers don't have to worry.
Rove appeared far less threatening on stage, his rapping limited to occasional outbursts of "I'm MC Rove" -- slang for "master of ceremonies."
Footage from the Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner was featured on morning news television shows and available at the YouTube Web site.
Rove is in the firing line as Democrats pursue his role in the dismissal of eight federal prosecutors, which they say was motivated by partisan politics. He eluded indictment last year in a case involving the leak of the name of a CIA operative.
Bush drew a laugh at the dinner with a joke touching on the prosecutors' firing.
"We really blew the way we let those attorneys go. You know you botched it when people pity lawyers," said Bush, who traditionally has used such occasions to make self-deprecating comments.
When asked by the comedian Bush declined to share Rove's nickname around the White House -- "turd blossom," a reference to the flowers that grow from Texas cow dung.

Sounds like fun was had by all.

How embarrassing and uncool Rove looked. I told my wife even the repugs can't think Rove was cool.
All repugs that is except liar_k but that's understandable liar_k has has shown she has no taste or class either.
I watched a reporter show Rove doing his rap dance to a couple guys on the street they just laughed at him and said "OH NO"!!

Anyone who thinks it's a good sign that the audience stood up & cheered is naive. Speaking as a former reporter, I have to say that most of the audience was thrilled to have more fodder for their writing, radio, TV shows, etc. I would have stood & clapped, too.

Yup, it certainly DOES take the focus off the multitude of Republican scandals and investigations...it won't last forever though...and the focus once more will be on the real "song and dance" of the Republicans

well hellen YOU certainly don't speak for THEM. tsk tsk tsk And you don't know if it bothered them at all.
It's you, once again, projecting your OWN feelings about it upon others. tsk tsk tsk
But you certainly didn't give any negative comment like this when the AQ/muslims were dancing in the streets after they took down the twin towers.
THEN you were silent. No bashing them.
Your priorities are petty.
"While the democratic party complains about everything THIS President does to protect our Nation": "What would a Democrat president have done at that point?"
"Apparently, the answer is: Sit back and wait for the next terrorist attack."

Mingo, between you and me--I think Linda's "tsk" is a substitute for her "LOL." She doesn't know enough about writing to know that she could just state what she has to say, and if it's powerful enough, no "tsk" or "LOL" is needed. If written correctly, words should be able to stand on their own. But, shhhh, let that be our little secret.
She didn't even realize that my "shut up" in the title wasn't aimed at Karl; it was just that slangy thing kids say these days about something unbelievable. That lady is not with the times! Again, though, this'll be our secret.

Fur flies between PETA and Karl Rove
By Jeannette Walls
MSNBC
Updated: 6:54 a.m. PT April 2, 2007
PETA has Karl Rove in its crosshairs.
The animal-rights group — which usually goes after fur-wearing celebs such as Nicole Richie and Ashley Olsen — has set its sights on President Bush’s top aide.
Rove provoked the group’s ire with a rap routine he performed at the Washington Radio and TV Correspondents’ dinner.
“Listen up suckas, don’t get the jitters,” Rove rapped, “but MC Rove tears the heads off of critters.” And when asked if he has any hobbies, Rove said he enjoys “ripping the tops off of animals” and demonstrated with his hands.
“We saw your bizarre routine. . . and our first thought was, ‘Don’t give up your day job,’” PETA president Ingrid Newkirk wrote in a letter to Rove at the White House. “On second thought, we do wish you’d give up your day job. . . . You have a severe compassion deficit and, sadly, you have the president’s ear, and the last thing this country needs is someone whispering something violent into it.”
Wasn’t Rove just joking, asked The Scoop? “He hunts DOVES!” fired back Newkirk. “They’re four-ounce symbols of PEACE.”

Shouldn't that be "MC Turd Blossom"
Absolute faith has been shown, consistently, to breed intolerance. And intolerance, history teaches us, again and again, begets violence.

Pennsylvania now knows how all the rough and tough republicans guys like Cheney and the ex Senator Santorum hunt.
If they are not shooting friends they are shooting farm raised game let out of cages for the great white hunters as they walk by. No sport or hunting skills they just SLATER.
Can't you see by Rove's dance what kind of hunter he would make on a real hunt.
It just shows us all where liar_k's head is at when she admires wimps like Rove,Ex-Senator Santorum and soon to be Ex-President and failure Bushy.

Below is an article about how wimp republicam hunt.
Sport or Slaughter? VP's Hunting Trip Sparks Criticism
(KDKA) radio, Pittsburgh Vice President Dick Cheney's hunting trip to Westmoreland County this week is drawing criticism.
Cheney arrived at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe on Monday to do some hunting at the Rolling Rock Club and Game Preserve -- a private club with farm-raised pheasants; but some say it was no hunt -- it was a slaughter.
"Your average hunter may shoot no more than three pheasants a day; Vice President Cheney shot more than 70 -- and an untold number of mallards... We're appalled that so many animals were killed for target practice essentially."-- Wayne Pacelle, V.P.- Humane Society of the US
Five-hundred pheasants were released in front of Cheney and his men; and the ten-man hunting party killed 417 of the birds. Vice President Cheney alone shot over 70 pheasants.
The birds were then plucked and vacuum-packed in time for Cheney's afternoon flight back to Washington, DC.
The hunt sparked the Humane Society to issue a statement chastising Cheney. "We're appalled that so many animals were killed -- for target practice essentially," says Humane Society Vice President Wayne Pacelle.
"To just slaughter animals that are dumped out in front of hunters just for the thrill of all this killing is not something that can be justified... this is more grisly than we ever could have imagined it could be."-- Wayne Pacelle, Humane Society
The White House isn't commenting.

On a serious note, I consider those who take part in these canned hunts as a low form of human life. They probably would torture animals if they could get away with it. This is NOT sport, NOT hunting.
It shows a total lack of backbone, integrity, strength, character, integrity, honesty, and decency.
It is killing for killing's sake. It is sick.

I don't see where a Canadian politician is out clubbing seals so it hardly relates.
Like it or not, seal hunting is a legitimate fisheries hunt and what Cheney does is not hunting.
Guys that rip heads off little animals as Rove brags, or blow up frogs with firecrackers like Bush did or wildly shoot as Cheney does all have serious mental problems and are not considered hunters, they just kill for sick fun.
