For those that don't know why we are in Iraq...maybe this will help. This is the only way we can put an end this this "World wide Terrorism" It has to start somewhere...it just happened to be Iraq.
These peaceful people are always thinking ahead.
"A "sophisticated and premeditated attempt to inflict massive casualties on our most innocent victims.\" From CNN, with thanks to all who sent this in: BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- American soldiers discovered a girls\' school being built north of Baghdad had...\"
Quote:
This shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Take a half dozen of the construction crew for a ride on a helo. Start tossing them until one talks. Then toss him. Repeat until the entire crew is \"jump\" certified. There are no innocents here. Whoever wasn't involved - watched. And didn't tell. It is time to start terrorizing the terrorists.

That's what happens when a country is invaded and destroyed, their government and army toppled and the borders left unguarded and open for several years afterwards. It's no secret that the terrorists and insurgents have been arriving since the invasion because there has been no one to stop them. Even though Saddam was a ruthless dictator he wouldn't have allowed al Qaeda in to compete on his own territory - Saddam wanted full control and he had it.

That's what continues to GROW, world-wide when people like kaira and helen choose to LOOK THE OTHER WAY at the realities of terrorism.
tsk tsk tsk
According to our state departments most recently released report on terrorism.....taken from townhall.com by Ollie North:
"The table of incidents of terrorism worldwide shows that between 2005 and 2006, the number of terror incidents increased from 11,153 to 14,338 -- a 25 percent rise.
Worse still, 20,494 people died at the hands of terrorists -- 5,800 more than the previous year -- a 40 percent increase.
Digging into the reports reveals other disturbing indicators. Bombings are up by 30 percent and casualties from explosive devices have increased by 39 percent. Individual suicide bombing attacks, where a terrorist wears or carries an explosive device rather than driving a bomb-laden vehicle, are up 25 percent.
More than 50 percent of the victims of these attacks perpetrated by Islamic radicals were other Muslims.
Among those casualties were more than 1,800 children, an 80 percent increase from the previous year.
[the year reported on is from 2005-2006]
So, YES, kiara I FULLY believe the 3400 lives lost are WORTH fighting these EVIL MONSTERS.
You would rather see them grow strong it appears...because in your view WE'RE wasting our TREASURE in the WRONG MANNER.
But then again, you and hellen always objected to ANY loss of life when fighting these MADMEN.
"While the democratic party complains about everything THIS President does to protect our Nation": "What would a Democrat president have done at that point?"
"Apparently, the answer is: Sit back and wait for the next terrorist attack."
posted on May 5, 2007 08:55:19 AM newTHAT happens EVERYDAY in countries where muslim terrorists are allowed to continue their EVIL deeds.
Of course! The Bush regime should have been able to figure that out but allowed them to come in to Iraq and do these evil deeds.
No plans were made to secure the borders and they keep coming in to do more damage because the borders are still open. Duh!
Linda_k, just because a person is aware of the way Iraq was before the invasion compared to the destruction across the country now it doesn't make them a Saddam supporter.
posted on May 5, 2007 08:58:01 AM new
Sure it does.
You FOOL no one, kiara.
You and helen NEVER support ANY country who IS fighting terrorist.
But you're ALWAYS right in there DEFENDING saddams actions in one way or another.
Just as you did in the 'the lies go on and on' thread.

kiara said:
"To find those old, badly corroded weapons the lives of 3,363 American soldiers were lost and more than 26,000 were severely injured and billions of dollars were squandered, creating a civil war and a humanitarian disaster in Iraq and making it a breeding ground for terrorists when it had previously been one of the most developed countries in the Middle East.
Was it worth it?
=====
Only the BLIND and those living in total DENIAL of the growing THREAT of terrorism would say something so TOTALLY STUPID.
Shows they can't grasp the threat....and are UNWILLING to FIGHT terrorism at all - anywhere.

No, it's because you can't see the reality of spreading terrorism.
Because your thinking only allows you to believe this war was ONLY about womd in Iraq....and NOT the full scope of fighting the AQ ANYWHERE....of fighting those radical muslim madmen who have no problem killing THEIR OWN when they don't bow down to THEIR orders.
In your EXTREMELY LIMITED mind, you focus on ONLY this President and how terrible he is...in EVERY way.
But you and HELEN NEVER put ANY blame on the terrorists for killing INNOCENT men, women AND CHILDREN.
That's what our soldiers are fighting against, kiara, WORLD WIDE.....not JUST in Iraq.
That's what CANADIAN troops are fighting against in Afghanistan.
So your support and agreement with the Iraq was better off CLUB....is quite clear. You repeat it all the time.

linda states, "You and helen NEVER support ANY country who IS fighting terrorist."
Obviously, you cannot fight a terrorist organization successfully in one country such as Iraq. Terrorists are scattered all over the world.
linda states,"But you're ALWAYS right in there DEFENDING saddams actions in one way or another."
What "actions" do you believe we have we defended? Kiara simply presented an accurate description of the situation before the war contrasted with the situation now.
posted on May 5, 2007 09:15:22 AM new
Linda_K, so your rational is that a person must remain ignorant and stay in total denial of the way Iraq was before the invasion otherwise they become a Saddam supporter.
That could explain a lot when trying to discuss anything here with you.
So how does a person wipe out the memories of Iraq before the invasion? Prayer? Does that help? Drinking? Drugs?
posted on May 5, 2007 09:28:45 AM new
Prayer? I doubt you pray.
Drinking and drugs.....maybe THAT'S YOUR problem.
They sure as heck aren't mine.
=========
You and hellen allow terrorist to spread by not being willing to DO anything about it. NOTHING.
Left to grow, as it has been is NOT the answer. And your so called 'solution' is to TALK these madmen out of their actions....
REALITY WAKE UP CALL...that's NEVER going to happen.
This is a BELIEF system of theirs. PERIOD.
=========
There are actions like these reported DAY IN DAY out in many articles. But you IGNORE THEM....you choose to focus on the small number of American deaths - those who were willing to fight to stop the GROWTH of this terrorism.
I'd suggest you BOTH try focusing on the world wide MURDERS these terrorists are committing each and everyday.

The fire was a tragedy that could have struck anywhere.
Fifteen girls between ages 13 and 17 were trampled to death and 52 others were hurt when a blaze swept through their school.
Parents and journalists angrily demanded the resignation of education officials they accused of incompetence and corruption.
There was plenty to be angry about. Some 800 schoolgirls were crammed into a building designed for only 250. The main gate to the school was locked. There were no emergency exits, no fire alarms and no fire extinguishers in the building.
But another far more sinister detail in this particular tragedy shows that it could not have happened anywhere but Saudi Arabia.
Firefighters told the Saudi press that morality police forced girls to stay inside the burning building because they were not wearing the head scarves and black cloaks known as abayas that women must wear in public in that kingdom.
One Saudi paper said the morality police stopped men who tried to help the girls escape the building, saying, "It is sinful to approach them."
Girls died because zealots at the gate would rather see them burn than appear in public dressed inappropriately.
Who are these men who would choose a scarf and an abaya over a girl's life? The morality police, or mutawwai'in as they are known in Arabic, are officers of the Kafkaesque-sounding Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice.
The State Department describes the committee in its annual human rights report as a "semiautonomous agency that enforces adherence to Islamic norms by monitoring public behavior."
What kind of virtue is it to allow girls to die in a fire because of what they were not wearing?
Whose Islam is it that allows these men to dilute the faith I and millions of others cherish for its teachings of compassion and justice to nothing more than a dress code and sexual segregation?
I grew up learning God is merciful and that faith was based on choice -- you could not force actions on anyone in the name of religion.
For anyone who has not been to Saudi Arabia, the best way to describe the mutawwai'in is as the godfathers of the Taliban. It is the ideology of the mutawwai'in -- based on the puritanical Wahabi school of Islam prevalent in Saudi Arabia -- that gave birth to the Taliban and the misery they unleashed on the people of Afghanistan.
The only difference is that the Taliban ran a lawless country for a few years until the military might of the United States brought its rule to an end as punishment for its support of a terrorist network.
So, yes we CAN work to change one muslim nation at a time....and that's just what we're working towards in IRAQ - where we AND the Iraqi's are currently fighting the AQ - who believe in this CRAP above.

From 8/01/06, The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
Gangs want to destroy the scientific minds of Iraq and with the current lack of security, even giving a low mark to a student in an exam can be reason enough to be threatened or killed,” Jumeiri said.
Being a teacher in Iraq today has become as dangerous as being a soldier in action, teachers say, and it’s a risk many are not willing to take.
Ever since a Shi’ite shrine was attacked last February in Samarra, 125km north of Baghdad, sectarian violence has raged throughout the country, creating a climate of lawlessness that criminal gangs are exploiting. Teachers are one segment of Iraqi society that is suffering the consequences.
According to the Iraqi Health Ministry, 3,438 Iraqis were killed in July – 1,855 because of sectarian or political violence, and another 1,583 from bombings and shootings. This is the highest number of violent deaths in any month since the United States-led occupation of Iraq began in April 2003.
Since February, nearly 180 professors have been killed and at least 3,250 have fled Iraq to neighbouring countries, according to the Ministry of Higher Education.

linduh, ""THAT happens EVERYDAY in countries where muslim terrorists are allowed to continue their EVIL deeds."""
So I see you don't believe that because "we're fighting them there, we won't have to fight them here".
Good to see you realize that terrorists are in a lot more places than just Iraq.
Then :""Nope....lip service to caring...but NO SOLUTIONS....""
Well, if your beloved CIC can't find a solution why do you expect Helen or Kiara or anyone else to find a solution???

Linda, I don't believe that anyone here has suggested "talk" alone. As usual you fabricate statements, attribute them to posters here and then argue against your own fabrication.
To effectively deal with terrorism and gorilla organizations it's necessary to understand the motives and other psychological and sociological factors influencing such organizations. A military response will onty serve to strenghten the cohesion of terrorist and gorilla organizations. Instead, we should consider the use of political, diplomatic, financial and psychological measures as outlined in this 1999 report by Rex A. Hudson , Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress.

ROFLOL.....that's right.
hellen ALSO believe we must UNDERSTAND the terrorists.
LOL LOL LOL LOL
helen most of us HAVE understood them for generations. We understand EXACTLY what the want....and what they're willing to do to get it.
We've heard bin landens tapes...we've heard what hamas wants...etc etc etc.
9-11 should have also been QUITE ENOUGH proof for you too.
You and your ilk will never think they are 'understood' enough. lol lol
They're NO different than common THUGS, murderers, MASS murderers. They don't value human life.
Once you can grasp THAT concept...then you'll come out of that 'utopian' world you've always lived in.
I highly doubt it....but miracles have been known to occur.

Well helen....terrorism is REAL....terrorists like bin laden/saddam/etc....are not going to STOP doing their EVIL deeds because you and your ilk THINK they understand them. lol lol lol
And IF we PRETEND that YOU have also read your seven year old analysis of terrorists and terrorism.....one would THINK you'd have insight into just HOW to best deal with them.
After all, you see yourself as SUCH an intellectual lol lol.
You think YOU could talk bin laden out of what his demands to the US have been???
I'd sure LOVE to hear you say you'd do WHATEVER he demanded just to protect your own rear end.
