My neighbor preschool daughter has to raise 50 cans of food for school charity, she cant be 4 years old,is that too much?
I know her mom is helping her,she prepared a slip and hang a plastic grocery bag at each neighbor door, but thats a tall order even for an adult??

Yes, I think that's a lot to require of a 4 year old.
That it's done for charity is most likely meant to start teaching them the importance of helping those who are in need.
I think it would still teach them the value/importance of helping others without the large 'requirement'. Just asking them to get as many as they could to help the needy.

."and , of course, it's ALWAYS "MOM" NOT "DAD" who gets stuck with the real work...
The reality of our society today is the child may not HAVE a Dad to help her. Women's lib and all.

I can understand teaching preschool kids the virtues of helping others, but why 50 cans?
Poor mom has to carry these cans from house to house.
I think 50 cans is just too much, they are exploiting the kids.
I also have older kids selling dinner cards, roulette games, candies ect for 15 dollars and almost in tears when they are turned down.
These kids are supporting the adults who sit in air conditioned office getting a pay check manning some stupid charity.
Remember the water babies in Great Britain??
