Clinton and Edwards Disagree on U.S. Security
The Democratic debate opens with former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) disagreeing about whether or not the United States was safer than we were on the day of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Former Sen. John Edwards answers a question during the Democratic presidential primary debate. (AP Photo)Edwards reiterated his allegation that the global war on terror was nothing more than a "bumper sticker" adding: "What this global war on terror bumper sticker was intended to do was for George Bush to justify everything he did."
Clinton referenced her experience as a senator from New York during the terrorist attacks before politely disagreeing with Edwards. "I believe we are safer than we were. We are not yet safe enough."

Then today there was also disagreement on just 'whose' war this is. LOL LOL LOL
Even your own party candidates don't agree that it's Bush's war.
from reuters:
This war belongs to the Democratic Party because the Democrats were put in charge by the people in the last election with the thought that they were going to end the war," said Kucinich.
Gravel said: "It's the Democrats' war also" and argued that anyone who had originally voted to authorize the conflict ought to get out of the race. "That disqualifies them for presidenthe insisted.
Then according to the same reuter's article....
Edwards found himself defending an argument he has been making that the war on terrorism is simply political propaganda, a bumper sticker slogan pushed by the Bush administration.

Yep any idiot who believes we are not at war with terrorism should NEVER be elected CIC. They need HELP.

Loved this statement on
Power Line:
"Edwards got the first crack at telling the audience what he'd do in his initial 100 days as president. He replied that he would tour the world in order to re-establish America's moral leadership, by talking about our values such as diversity. That's a good answer if you're running for Miss America, but not if you're running for president as an anti-war candidate."

The beginning of the 'gloves coming off' between the different democratic candidates.
http://www.washtimes.com/functions/print.php?StoryID=20070604-123002-6666r
And we're still 17 months away from the election. Like they did in 2004, I expect the dems vs the wacko liberals will really get down and dirty with one another in the not too distant future.
It has already begun...and this quickly too. tsk tsk tsk

" Clinton was very much the Party unifier last night. She refused to allow Blitzer (or her colleagues) to define the issues in ways that would divide the party — with one major exception, which I’ll come back to. But first look at this framing:
Everybody on this stage, we are all united, Wolf. We all believe that we need to try to end this war. In two nights you’re going to have the Republican candidates here. They all support the war. They all support the president. They all supported the escalation. Each of us is trying in our own way to bring the war to an end. . . .
And I think it’s important particularly to point out; This is George Bush’s war. He is responsible for this war. He started the war. He mismanaged the war. He escalated the war. And he refuses to end the war.
And what we are trying to do, whether it’s by speaking out from the outside or working and casting votes that actually make a difference from the inside, we are trying to end the war. . . .
The differences among us are minor. The differences between us and the Republicans are major. And I don’t want anyone in America to be confused.

I'm loving it too, classic. Just as I did in 2004 when they attacked each other. And it will ONLY get worse as their, [currently] three front runners go after each others blood as we get closer to the election.

Also wanted to mention that ONLY ONE democratic candidate thinks we should make English our official language.
Even though an overwhelming majority of American's want to see it that way.
The LONE dem who does believe English should be our official language:
Mike Gravel
How American.....NOT!!!
===============================
And I agree with Newt's statement on this issue:
"Restoring 'Government of the People': Making English the Official Language of the United States
The opposition in Congress to making English the official language of the United States is a near perfect example of the failure of the current leadership in Washington to adopt a deeply held value of the American people. Eighty-five percent of Americans want the federal government to join with 30 states in making English the official language of the United States, and yet our elites consider the adoption of this value as a distraction or worse.
Consider last night's Democratic presidential debate. When asked for a show of hands, former Alaskan Sen. Mike Gravel was the only candidate to express support for English. Illinois Sen. Barack Obama said that the question "is designed precisely to divide us" and that "when we get distracted by those kinds of questions, I think we do a disservice to the American people." If 85% of Americans support English as the official language of government, the only division is between Sen. Obama and the American people.
New York Sen. Hillary Clinton responded that she supported English as the "national" language but not the "official" language of the United States, since making English the official language would prevent the printing of foreign language ballots for U.S. elections.
It seems that only liberals can possibly see 85% support for a deeply held American value as divisive and only liberals think it is acceptable to express support for English as long as it does not actually have any meaning, such as ending the printing of foreign language ballots for U.S. elections.

edwards speaks of his faith.

I'm just so sure that their professions of their faith, to their God, will not get all the negative, liberal MSM attention that that of this President's have.

At the Republican debate, last night, I loved McCain's statement in regards to what hillary had said during the last dem debate:
"McCain drew loud applause from the partisan debate audience when he turned a question about the war in Iraq into criticism of the leading Democratic presidential hopeful, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.."
"When Senator Clinton says this is Mr. Bush's war, President Bush's war," she is wrong, he said. "When President Clinton was in power, I didn't say Bosnia was President Clinton's war," the Arizona senator said."
""Presidents don't lose wars. Political parties don't lose wars. Nations lose wars," he added."

hillary is SUCH a 'divider'. lol lol
