How much lower can they go? LOL LOL LOL
They're in control now....but it sure looks like the public doesn't like the job THEY'RE doing. And unlike President Bush, who won't be running in '08....they will be.

Bush, Congress at record low ratings: Reuters poll
By John Whitesides, Political Correspondent
2 hours, 33 minutes ago
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush and the U.S. Congress registered record-low approval ratings in a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday, and a new monthly index measuring the mood of Americans dipped slightly on deepening worries about the economy.
Only 29 percent of Americans gave Bush a positive grade for his job performance, below his worst Zogby poll mark of 30 percent in March. A paltry 11 percent rated Congress positively, beating the previous low of 14 percent in July.
That 29% President Bush has looks pretty good by comparison, especially since when his numbers were in the high 30’s those very same Democrats said that his approval rating proved he was the worst president ever. If the Dems manage to lose just a few more points their numbers will equal the combined IQs of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and at that point I seriously doubt you’ll be able to find many Democrats who won’t agree with that assessment.
I wonder if either Pelosi or Reid is making plans for how they’ll handle their next term as speaker of majority leader. Probably both are. Hah.

Gotta love it when someone blames the Democrats... let me guess... the 11% is Bill Clinton's fault.
It is absolutely hysterical to think there are Americans as stupid as Linduh who believe that it is because Congress is "controlled" by Democrats.
First off... Congress is NOT "controlled" by Democrats. Democrats hold a slim majority. If the Democrats truly controlled congress things would be much different and their approval rating would be much higher.
Second, the approval ratings of Congress are based on the stalemate created between BOTH Democrats and Republicans. If there was a 60% Democratic majority in Congress you could say the Democrats truly had control.
What this means is that people are p!ssed that things are not getting done because of the politics going on.
If you seriously think Americans blame Democrats for the stalemate... you will probably be quite disappointed after the 08 elections.

The VOTERS are angry that the liberals aren't coming through on all their PROMISES they made. Promised to do IF elected. Well, they were elected and we're still at war.
Anyone KNOWS they could have changed that by NOT voting to continue funding the war(s)...which they HAVE continued doing.
Again, not what they SAY...but how they VOTE.
Jan. to Sept....and we're still at war. The liberals have FAILED to deliver on their promises. PERIOD.

Shag--Thank you for posting that. Been wanting to make that point, but sometimes I just don't have the energy for Linda. A Washington DC journalist, who's name escapes me, said something interesting on one of the 24-hour news stations tonight. He spoke with a Republican Congressman who told him that most Republicans will continue to support Bush and Iraq until they win their primaries. After that, they will not. The theory is that mostly hard line Republicans vote in primaries, but in the general elections, there will be more of the majority of Americans who are against the war voting. If this is true, considering the average KIA estimate to be 60-90 a month, that's a lot of troops to lose to save their jobs.

And how many of the promises that Bush made during the last election has he made good on? If I remember it was you that could not list any of Bush's accomplishments. What a shame. In 6 years Bush has not accomplished anything. tsk tsk tsk
Besides if you look at the poll breakdown by party there are more Democrats that approve of Congress than Republicans that approve of Congress.

"And the public speaks their opinion about the Demo attack on Petraeus."
Nail - head for SURE.
General 'Betrayus' didn't go over well at all with ANY American patriot. But it hopefully did open a million more eyes as to how far off the wacko chart groups like moveon.org really are.

Another LIE from ld:
"If I remember it was you that could not list any of Bush's accomplishments."
You don't remember well at all. NOT true.

See Linda it is you that have been lying. Are you going to dispute the facts now? My proof is in the thread below where you and dumsquirrel could not list any of Bush's accomplishments. So once again Linda you are the liar and have egg all over your face.

LOL!!! I knew it. Linduh couldn't come up with any.
Linduh says, "edited to add: No one has to believe ME. They can go to any radical liberal site....dailykoz/moveon.org/etc and read for themselves what the RADICAL liberal left is saying....and they see it the way I described it....not accepting the way rusty EXCUSES their low poll numbers."
You every notice how Linduh specifically references the "far left" to argue her case against??? As if she would EVER agree with the "far left". Sorry Linduh, but the "far left" doesn't make up the general voting or polling that comes up with these numbers. Neither do the "holier than thou" fascists like yourself.
The difference between Linduh and most other Americans who actually have one foot in reality (whether they are progressives or conservatives) is that they see things from a much more balanced perspective.
Middle America conservatives isn't always about 4x4 pick up trucks, confederate flags, and cross burning just as much as San Fransiscan liberals aren't about fudge packin', pot smokin', welfare living, patchouli hippies living in comunes.
The point is that Linduh thinks from her @ss, making up crap as she goes. She pulls her information from the real idiots like Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh as if they have grip on reality.
Americans are fed up with congress now, just as they were fed up with congress before this election when the Republicans controlled it. A stalemate in congress is a stalemate in congress and people prefer to pay their salaries to get work done, not fight.
You got only one thing wrong when you said, "The VOTERS are angry that the liberals aren't coming through on all their PROMISES they made. Promised to do IF elected. Well, they were elected and we're still at war." You referred to liberals. When America voted in November as a mandate to Congress, they did so as a message to CONGRESS, not just democrats.
Unless a miracle happens for the Republicans between now and 2008, there is a good chance that both houses could swing to the Democrats beyond what they need to override vetos and crush filibusters, as well as have a Democrat for President. Linduh, we know that is your worst nightmare... but Americans are preparing to push the Republicans over the cliff if they continue the BS they bring week after week. Americans are sick of 7 years of constant struggle to make progress.
