In my opinion, Bush has taken a big pie plate, filled it with crap and has thrown it in the face of the American people. Since McCain is also a Republican with similar ideas, what could he bring to the table that's any different from Bush, if elected?

A vote for McCain is a vote to make that pie higher!

"Or maybe you could go to Canada. Oh wait, you are there. No wonder you make no sense."

Uh, ok.

I guess I just see McCain as another hothead sociopath like Bush. I'm sure he's a good person, but he seems really out of touch with reality. In my quest to understand both sides, I never get past first base with the Republican way of thinking. It always seems to be powered by anger and fueled by lies. I'll keep trying though.

It depends on definitions.

The left says "pull out of Iraq because the soldiers are getting killed"

The right says that "if you pull out of Iraq lots of people will die"

To the left, if you die because you can't afford health care because you lost your job because Iranian saber rattling has skyrocketed the price of oil, it doesn't count. If you die because you're homeless and the food bank closed because the rise in food costs means cutbacks on contributions, it doesn't count.

Right now you have people dying because of speculation on rice and energy issues.

Most of this nonsense is happening from mere speculation. An Iran running rampant and you won't BELIEVE what will happen.

Fortunately no candidate has plans to leave Iraq, although McCain is the only one to say so publicly.

Desquirrel, wouldn't you think a big country like the US would have a plan in place just in case they started a war with a country under false pretenses? Especailly if preemptive? Does a false war just continue because it's already started? I bet every American would be understanding about the best way to pull out of Iraq but unfortunately, I think they're at the point where they don't believe what's being told to them because they were lied to about the war and the players to begin with.

As for people dying because they can't keep up, isn't that what mother nature is all about with only the strong surviving? When you have too many uneducated people on the planet, something's got to give.

They didn't have a plan for the war as is. This administration just winged it as they went along. The back up plan was "stay the course until January 20, 2009".

STONECOLD for President

Presient of the United States? - you have to be kidding. This would be the end of the world as we know it.

Preident of the pre-school class? - Yep he would fit right in with all the other uneducated babies in the class.

our dollar is worth 'less' and oil is priced in dollars,so it takes more dollars to buy a barrel of oil,it is not all speculation.
When my parents were in China during the Nationalist regime, first there was the Japanese invasion ,then there is the communist revolution and the nationalist govt is losing the way, prices keep going up on food, newspaper ,everything.
100 dollars buy you a newspaper,300 dollars get you a white flour bun with no meat and 1000 dollars get you a bowl of soup noodle with a few pieces of thin sliced meat floating on top.
Then the govt came up with a new currency, turning 100 dollars into one new dollar but soon enough,it takes 100 new dollars to get a newspaper,300 new dollars to get a bun and 1000 new dollars to get a bowl of soup noodles.
Same situation happens to Brazil in the 80s and the Russians in the 90s and the Indonesian in the early 2000 and of course the German Weimar republic where people need a wheel barrow to take home all that cash from the bank.
We have enjoyed cheap fuel, cheap food and cheap clothes for so long, now there is at least a few hundred million newly minted middle class from India,China,Russia and Middle East who want the same, prices have to go up,it is a supply and demand issue.
Every month 400,000 new vehicles are sold in China, just guess where they are going-WALMART,they are going to Walmart so they can haul back the electronic and electric goods which consume electricity.
2 coal powered equivalent power generation plants are built every month to meet the needs in China.
This is just China, what about India and Russia?
No,it is not all speculation, of course the speculators seize the opportunity to make some money and jump on the wagon .
