"The higher taxes, debt payments and interest rates needed to pay for health reform mean lower living standards."

I dont mind a lower living standard, compared to the rest of the world,we live well.
So I will keep driving my old car, live in the same house and shop for the same grocery, watch my Netflix movies and surf the internet and enjoy central air and heat.
read a good book every now and then.
I will probably wear a heavy sweater in winter and drink more cold water in summer and drive less and eat smaller portion.
Not the end of the world

hwahwa - That sounds good. I would also say spend more time with family. We need to get back to reality. There is so much you can do that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I am sure families will not take fancy vacations. Like Disneyworld. This will be an awakening. I am going to take advantage of that. Take short trips, trim the fluff. Take advantage of what your town or city has to offer.

I have many books that I would like to read and our Library is only 1/2 mile away. I won't get rid of my computer or TV. We just purchased a new car that gets 35 miles to a gallon.

Life is going to change if President Obama has his way, will it be bad, only time will tell.

It's amazing to me that living simply and spending frugally is such a revolutionary concept. There won't be any changes around here.

The last week has really stunned me. This is NJ. The majority of the state is red with the bright blue spots (Newark, Jersey City, Camden) enough to make the state vote blue. The rest of us just sit back and take it. Well in the last week we have it looking very bad for our Dem Governor, a spontaneous 2000 strong "Nobama" protest 2 towns over, and NJ has formed 8 county "Tea Party" committees to send members to a national protest that's being organized.

I guess the dummy in the street CAN figure out what to do in bad economic times if Congress can't.

Well, posters here spoke of the President in reverent tones, with tears at every speech. I suspected he was just another hack. It takes quite a lot to lose a mandate like the one he was given. He could have at least TRIED to reign in the party pigs. It appears this might be the shortest honeymoon in American political history. Every report says the Democrats are terrified about NJ. They sent Obama here several times. Everything is wait and see. I guarantee they're not going to like it. EVERYWHERE people are fed up. You never here the Obamamaniacs anymore.

lol, keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

Barely 2,000 people showed for a preplanned event organized by 'The Morristown Tea Party' was hardly a "spontaneous" happening.

Don't forget about the next "spontaneous" happening taking place in DC on Saturday September 12th!

Don't forget to print out some health care sign idea's from their website, so you to can look like you would have cared even if the local AM station you listen to wasn't hammering on about it 24/7 for weeks leading up to the event.

Some ideas for signs: Heath Care

If the “President’s” Heath Care plan is good enough for MY children, it's good enough for Malia and Sasha !

I thought "Choice" was a "Privacy Right" found in the Constitution

The Government could not even run "Cash for Clunkers" …. And they want YOUR healthcare?!?!

The RULING CLASS exempts themselves from their own rules

If you think the IRS is coercive..............wait till the Federal Government Controls you health care

Where is the.............................."Transparency"?

If you think the current system has problems, wait till they "fix" it

You can put lipstick on a Tyrant, but he's still a Tyrant - hilarious

HR 3200, pg. 62: Section: 3B..................................Everyone gets a Colonoscopy

Government Control = Loss of Liberty

It’s MY money, MY body, My Life !

The solution for getting into debt, is REALLY getting into debt?

Their Goal is Control !

“When The People fear the government there is Tyranny, When the Government fears The People there is Liberty (Thomas Jefferson)

“To those who are FAITHFUL is given more”
………….….

Based on “10 YEAR PROJECTIONS”, you gotta be kidding

Government Control of “Private Industry” is called FASCISM !

“A government big enough to give you everything, is big enough to take it all away”

Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, TARP, TALF, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG, Bailouts, IRS…………ANY QUESTIONS?

While liberals may swoon at Obama's dulcet tones, it's still all BULLS**T, if not out and out lies.

Each speech about "recovery", we're doing fine, let's spend!!!

Reality is different and those dulcet tones are going to bring REAL tears to a lot of people.

do you honestly believe people are 'swooning' over the president?

I secretly hope that it's just a irritating way of describing people that simply approve in any way of what he's doing and not that your really that much of a tool. (because if everyone is as dumb as they come off when they try and describe those that don't believe the same as themselves - were all totally effed in the A.)

I don't recall hearing Obama say anything even close to "we're doing fine, let's spend". He has pointed to subtle signs that things are turning around and spoken of cautious optimism, but has always said that we are far from out of the woods.

Your former commander in chief however, repeatedly told us the economy was strong and there was nothing to worry about, even as the bubble had already burst. So did McCain during the campaign. You remember I'm sure.

"do you honestly believe people are 'swooning' over the president?"

That's a joke right?? There are multiple posts here before and after the election where they swoon and mention tears in their eyes or the feeling in their hearts at some $100k/yr speechwriter's efforts.

If anyone had tears in their eyes after the election, it may have been for hope that America had finally buried racism. However, that was an optimistic view. Racism is alive and well.

Oh, please. Give up the pc handbook already. The stock answer is so boring.

If somebody gets robbed by 3 people of the same color whether you call it a "race crime" or a "mugging" he's still out the bucks.

it wasn't a joke, but apparently you are.

your talking about what people said regarding the inauguration speech as how people feel and react to the regular day to day happenings?

it's that kind of stupid generalization that makes it so hard to take anything you say seriously. when you blanket everything into one big generalization, you should at least strive for it to be somewhat accurate or people will just write off anything else you say as an uneducated and pointless jab with no substance (when chances are there are a few accurate and original thoughts that bubble up from time to time.)

like this!
