I have a great deal of compassion for the plight of undocumented workers and their families who are not being considered worthy of care. Eventually I hope that all people in America will be able to receive what is being recognized as the right of all people everywhere. It's troublesome to me that Obama had to cede this point to Conservatives.
Besides the moral aspect, coverage of all people will insure a more healthy environment.

I agree, Profe. The disrespect shown President Obama, and not only by Joe Wilson, is toward the man, not his policies. Most of the Republicans were chattering, texting, making faces during the President's speech. The vituperative talk at the town hall meetings, the ridiculous attacks on the President's birthplace, religion, speech to the students---all are indications of something more than his politics. No president that I know of (I could be wrong) has been treated so disrespectfully--even in the halls of Congress no less. In case there was any doubt, racism is still with us.

DeJa Vu from the last Presidency.
Maybe different topics but the same bashing.
Remember what goes around comes around.
What is so important that a health care bill has to be passed immediately? Not because of lack of money according to some. Not because everyone can get health care but in a different manor than being suggested. Get it right or don't do it at all, that is the bottom line in my estimation. What ever party does it I really don't care but if they handle tort reform before health care like they should do, Health Care won't be initiated until next year oe later.

I don't recall any Rep or Senator interrupting President Bush in the way that Joe Wilson did. If you disagree with your president's policies, you have a right to protest, argue, give your point of view, vote against him, but to compare him to Hitler, call him a Nazi, question his birthplace etc. is way beyond that. If you don't have respect for the man, have respect for the office. This has become a society of rude, self-involved people.

Nope, it's not the "same bashing" at all. Nobody in congress ever spoke to Bush that way. The ugliness that's coming from the Obama haters in public has infected the conservatives in congress. Apparently that moron thought he was in a town hall meeting.

Coach, I agree with you and profe. However I want to take this one step further. The actions shown by Joe Wilson and some other congressmen shows that not only do they disrespect the President, but they also disrespect the American people. I believe they are only in their job to serve themselves and interest groups that got them into office.
