Has anybody tried NetZero for internet access? Since I am clueless about anything that goes on in my computer I an leary of downloading this - especially since the fiasco with Bonzi.

If I download NetZero can I uninstall AOL without causing a major blunder? Or should I leave well enough alone?

I was just talking about NetZero with a coworker on Wednesday. She has it and says she absolutely loves it. When I asked if the ever-present ads were annoying, she said that for her they[re not--she justs moves them down to the bottom of the screen.

The one problem she did say she'd had was in *loading* it--said that it took her 4 or 5 tries to get it going, but that once it was loaded she'd had no problems at all.

Sorry, she didn't mention AOL...

All-in-all, NetZero sounds pretty attractive...if I could just get over my aversion to the constant presence of an ad on the screen.

I use it as a back up to Earthlink.

I used to have a 15" monitor, and I hated Net Zero then because the ad box took up so much of my screen -- surfing the 'net was like peeking through a peephole.

With my new 17" monitor, it's not so bad, although the ad still annoys me a little because it always stays on top. Sometimes it's hard to access the window behind it. And sometimes a really flashy animated ad can be a bit distracting.

The service itself is good. I've never had any trouble signing on.

Sorry, I don't know how it and AOL will affect each other, but it and Earthlink don't seem to conflict.

I haveboth Netzero and AOL on my machine and they both workfine. I use AOL mostly and my wife uses @Home. When she needs to go on AOL and I need to work on-line I go to Netzero (Guess who wears the pants in our family!).
NetZero Can be a little slow sometimes, but not too bad. You get use to the ad bar quickly, but it does take up screen space (and memory)
But it's got the best price of all...FREE!
Enjoy!
