There are a number of online advent calendars out there, but this one (http://www.holidays.net/adventcalendar/) has some distinctive anims, like
--and it notes the start of the Hanukah and Kwanzaa festivals.

Thanks for the Advent Calendar link. I've bookmarked it for my kids, who LOVE Advent Calendars.
We always had one in the classroom in the parochial schools I attended. I have two going now at home; one is an old German one I found at an estate sale and I reuse it each year and the other is a Playmobil one where you collect all the parts and pieces of a woodland scene.

I'm a sucker for advent calendars. I love them and have a number of them that I put up every year. But the links don't work for me on this one. Except for Dec. 25th, the other dates don't "open" for me.

KatyD, sorry about that. Here is one that's incredible, and you don't need to know German to appreciate it. (FYI--"Ich hätte dich nicht für soooo neugierig gehalten!" translates roughly into "I wouldn't have thought you soooo curious!" )
