Interesting observation. I don't think that if every voter in Florida had been roaring drunk we could have come up with a scenario that even approaches the mess here now.
Actually, drunk voting might have been simpler. I would suspect that most have them would have cast no-votes because they lacked the hand-eye coordination required to get the stylus into the little hole on the puch card machine. Or in counties with optical scanners the inebriates inability to stay within the lines on those little circles would have invalidated their votes. Or course puking in a voting machine can have the effect of disenfranchising the squemish.
I can see the manual recount now.... Is that a chad or a chunk?

true in certain New England states bt I am sure they all just SAVE UP! They used to have a curtain over alcoholic beverages on election day ( as if) But no one in our store saw the *regulars* on election day........................
