Yes we know the church "christianized" existing holidays because it was easier to have the people continue doing as they always did and say it was now holy. Any educated person is familiar with that but nobody cares... so what is your point exactly?

Today, the 23rd, is also our 28th wedding anniversary- all the kids came home, saw 'Family Man' (very good) ate at Outback, and had Christmas. We all laughed until we cried at the singing deerhead my college freshman got for Christmas, looked at the college seniors' wedding pictures, and hugged and kissed a lot-a grown child's hugs are special, just because they are still willing to give and receive them.
I know what the 25th is, but I know what this 23rd meant to me-28 years of laughing, crying, and hugs with the same wonderful man and my wonderful kids (by birth or marriage!)

bearmom - now that's worthy of celebration. Congratulations. My sweet wife has been with me the same period as you guys in a couple months. She has put up with a lot.
