what is your all time favorite movie? mine is Goodfellas. i have seen it over 20 times. great acting, great story, great music.

Goodfellas is a favorite of mine, too. I also liked Magnolia a lot...always catch something new each time I see it. High Noon, Braveheart (for music and cinematography alone) and Midnight Express also top my list.

Shawshank Redemption is right up there. I also really love the movie Silkwood. But I think Papillion is the best.

Shawshank Redemption is my absolute favourite. Perfect acting, perfect plot, perfect twists, perfect ending, perfect music etc etc...

Lawrence of Arabia (must be seen in 70mm at a grand theater)
Lawrence of Arabia excelled on all levels, cinematography by the great Freddie Young, sweeping musical score by Maurice Jarre, fantastic attention to detail by the great director Sir David Lean. Top notch acting, story, and art direction... I don't think they'll ever be able to make a movie on that scale again.

My all time favorite movie?
Star Wars, after all I am a Space Cadet...
Others that are high on my list;
Hot Dog, The Movie. Crazy Skiers, a mountain, snow, nice music sound track, wet Tee-Shirt contest and laughs.
Harold and Maude. Crazy teenaged male who drives a Hearse meets an older woman (Ruth Gordon) and romance blossoms. Did I mention his fascination with suicide?
The Blob. Crazy Blob from outer space consumes people in small town USA.
The Blue Lagoon. Two Crazy teenagers running around half naked (OK, more than half naked) on a tropical island.
Night of the Living Dead. Crazy dead people come back to life and must eat brains from living people to kill the pain of being dead.

My ALLTIME favorite movie is Sweet Hostage with Martin Sheen and Linda Blair. I also love Excalibur with Nigel Terry. Then there are tons and tons that I would watch over and over.... like Pretty Woman and Steel Magnolias.

I have to say that THE most exciting movie I ever saw, and one that did not disappoint me, right to the end, was "Close Encounters of a Third Kind". Thrilling movie! LOVED IT!

Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful, Breakfast Club, Legend, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, The Crow. Nothing serious, I just like to be entertained.

Going wayyy back loved, Zorba the Greek. More recently, The Color Purple, Shawshank Redemption was excellent....loved the HAPPY ENDING (never really expected it) I really hate movies that telegraph the ending halfway through the plot.

"Matewan" (John Sayles, director), hands down. Great movie, great story, terrific cast and wonderful use of music to show the slow coming together of communities.

My fave has got to be Dangerous Liasons (sp?). John Malkovitch, could there BE a better actor? I also love Footloose, I know it's cheesy, but it reminds me of high school.

Hard to pick an absolute favorite, but North by Northwest has always been up near the top. Cary Grant at his finest!
And the Daniel Day Lewis version of The Last of the Mohicans. The cinematography was tremendous.

Really liked "Castaway"! Kept me on the edge of my seat. I liked " Driving Miss Daisy", "Fried Green Tomatoes", and "Little Women". Does that tell you any thing about me? LOL
