I think Bush and Ashcroft might be using the good cop/bad cop with the Clinton Pardon Investigation.

Bush wants to get on with life and Ashcroft wants to look into it. That raises my eyebrows a tad.

Of course it's good cop/ bad cop. Bush can say he wants to move on, because he knows Congress will probe it anyway.

Rather than point the finger at Ashcroft, consider that Mary Jo White, the NY U.S. Attourney is conducting an investigation. She is a Clinton appointee.

I don't appreciate being accused of "pointing a finger" at Ashcroft.

You are entitled to your opinion however I respectfully disagree. I was putting the issue good cop/bad cop on the table for discussion.

When a person points a finger, there are three pointing right back.

Then don't use the word "bad". If you are pointing out a "bad" you are pointing a finger. In this case it's at Ashcroft, much to the relief, I'm sure, of others.

How many investigations does that make now?

A House committee

U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White

Senate Intelligence Committee is investigating Clinton's pardon of former CIA Director John Deutch

The Justice Department also plans its own investigation of the pardon

How about "Encyclopedia Brown, Detective?" I am sure he would be able to solve the mystery in a couple of pages!
