December3: I took a two-day workshop on it years ago. Fortunately, there is a Ukrainian Folk Art Store in L.A. & I go there once a year & stock up on dies & stuff. Also, over in Chino there are places you can by fresh (newly laid) eggs. I do wish, though, that I could get my hands on goose eggs as they are larger than chicken eggs--but they're scarce around here.

3) boating (I can do the most of my fun stuff on the boat)
4) Spending a weekend alone on the boat (when I do it in the fall when no one else is around I scare myself silly. We are far enough away from people that no one can hear you scream. I love it!)
5) searching out vintage beads

bunnicula- Since you like boxing we will let you slide for listing more than five. I used to judge amateur bouts and corresponded with Ring magazine and the New York Post about their ratings. like many other fans i have lost a lot of interest in recent years with the many bad decisions and the other political shenanigans. BTW- what is pysanky?
Barry- i spoke to the lady next door to you. she says that she is not as old as you think and that she is interested in your pepperoni. i think her last name is Hechter or Lechter or something like that. who knew?

Lately, I've been enjoying this RT, probably too much.
I love to read...
And sell the books that I have read.
I enjoy painting, oils and watercolor and everything art related.
(you might say I'm a half-assed artist) that is southern lingo for
pretty good.
Also, I enjoy hanging out in museums...We live near Washington DC
and I like to visit all the good art galeries. It helps get my mind off
George.
Swiming
Walking with my best buddy, my "man eating dog". As you may know, he wants to eat
George but I'm keeping him on a tight leash.

Stusi: Pysanky is an art in which you draw designs on an egg in melted wax & then dip the egg into a dye. It's done in layers--first you draw on the white egg (& that part will stay white), then dip it into a dye, then put in more design with wax & put it into another dye, etc. You start with light dyes such as yellow and then use progressively darker dyes until the design is complete. The results can be quite spectacular.

I can't really prioritize my interests - much depends on the time of year or my mood. But I like collecting plastic politicians and costume jewelry, strolling through garden centers to look at the newest plants, reading, playing with the cats, working in my darkroom, and visiting art galleries.
femme and HJW - I'm in the D.C. 'burbs also. I don't think we'll be seeing George in the local galleries unless someone decides to satirize him in his/her work.

Hi Saabsister,
I'm in So. Pa.
Our proximity to I-81 and I-70 is attractive to those who work in the DC area and don't mind the commute, so growth has been tremendous. (I think they ran out of room in Frederick. )
Before long, we, too, will be a suburb of DC.

1 - Civil war collecting and research
2 - Writing for fun and profit - mostly fun
3 - Gardening (When I total in the California water costs - it works out to about 2 bucks a carrot)
4 - Antique shopping - Ebay and real life.
5 - Shooting sports, and hunting.
And Yes - Work . . . I know that is a potential dirty word - But there are times when I am thrilled with my job and what I do. (Then there are the other times where I swear and rant about work until the leaves wilt and fall off nearby bushes. lol)

I don't think I'm going to be able to put these in order, but some things I like a lot include:
- Web design (though I get a little tired of it since it's my job)
- eBay (although I haven't had much time for it lately)
- Home improvements and arranging stuff around the house
- Live auctions (although again, not much time for that lately)
- Thinking about gardening... LOL, maybe one day I'll actually get around to doing it
