Because the Bush family is not on my need-to-know-about list, I didn't even know there
was a Marvin.
Thank you for the link. That was most enlightening.
I guess consistency would be too much to ask for from reporters and politicians.

Republicans ought to meditate on the old adage, "Beware what you wish for. You may just get it."
How very true...

Inside right on and unfortunately
it isn't going away...we have a TV newsgroup
called "Clinton Watch" that comes on with the
eleven o'clock news...I've never written or
called a TV station before, but I am sooo
sick of Hillary & Bill I had to let them
know that this was NON NEWS! In my opinion.
I requested that they separate this
from the NEWS and call it "This Bilious and Hilarious Show"

No, it will only be four...
LMAO
Besides, it's better to have trash in the whitehouse and money in the bank, then money in the whitehouse, and trash in the bank.
No need to worry though, the recession will only last another 3 yrs. 11 months.
Then we can get another dem in the oval, and money back in the bank.

Pocono - Don't you think it's a bit silly to blame Bush for the economy? He's barely been in office a month.
Oh, BTW - You may want to consider the source of that article. Mother Jones is not exactly known for fair and balanced reporting. Not trying to defend Bush, if he's dirty he deserves to be found out.
Toke - I feel for ya! I voted for Bush not because I thought he was Mr Wonderful, just a better choice than Gore. McCain was my guy.

tootsiepop,
He's been "found out' for years. His entire life has been filled with shady deals supporting lost causes and making millions from taxpayer bailouts. It extends to the S&L scandals in the 80's to the huge public ripoff in the Texas Rangers stadium building and consequent increases in the value of that team tenfold.
What is it? You don't pay attention? You don't seek out information that has direct bearing on your vote? Or you just don't want to know that the 'decency' that you voted for doesn't exist?
That isn't a new report, the information it contains was reported before the election by major media.
The only reason that I posted it is that I had been curious about where Neil Bush is now, and discovered Marvin. Later I'll see what I can find about Dorothy. Could you do us a favor and tell us whatever happened to Toto?

I have to go play doctor for today and tomorrow, but so far Marvin Bush is listed as a 'director' of an insurance company that deals in, amongst other things, medicaid.
The company has a full bank of executives listed, so I don't know what 'director' means, but the company has shown a remarkable increase in share value of 68% since 1999.
Marvin holds about a million in share price so I'm sure that he must be involved in other things. A fella' gotta' eat after all, and the pickins are particularly beneficial now, I'm sure.

krs - Has W been indicted (sp?) for anything? Are there good, solid facts presented by a non partisan reporter/publication, or just rumors in left wing magazines?
Yes, I do pay attention to the facts, and I certainly don't think Bush is a saint by any means. I just said I considered him a better choice than Gore.
Toto is alive and well here with me in Oz, and if you're not nice I'll sic him on ya!

I'm not sure what "left wing" exactly means, tootsiepop, but if you have read it much I am sure that you are aware that it is non-partisan and highly respected among journalists nationally for the quality of its independent investigative reporting.

What most people seem to forget are the two biggest financial holocausts perpretrated by the Bush family on America.
The first is our Beloved President-by-Theft, George W. Bush. There used to be a type of financial institution known as a neighborhood Savings & Loan. Members got such cheap rates on loans for real property and free services, that banks were closing their doors in many places. Bad banking practices were not blamed on why banks were closing their doors, but that they had too much competition from the Savings & Loans institutions.
Well, to shorten this up, George W. Jr got put in charge of the Savings & Laons. It was he who urged all S&L's to invest their worth in Junk Bonds (remember those?) And when the S&L's fell down into bankruptsy, we got the multi-trillion dollar bill, and then President George Bush Sr PARDONED his son and used the power of his office to secure him from prosecution.
So the next time that you gasp at the charges levied upon you at your bank, think George Bush!
The second one is longer and would need links and support documents for anyone to belive me, so I'll let this lay where it is.

It's easy to declare yourself "non-partisan" and then still display a particular bias. From what I've seen there is no media source or journalist that is unbiased.

James,
Semantically speaking, unbiased and nonpartisan are not synonymous, but regardless of that fact if one dictates what might be considered absolute objectivity in matters of discussion, dialogue is moot.
What is your impression of Mother Jones Magazine?

I'm ashamed to say I've never even heard of it before now.
It looks like interesting reading, so I'm going to see what I can find, but this jumped right out at me:
Our opinionated and highly selective guide to alternative, underreported, and independent news, views, and resources on US politics, including the continuing furor over Election 2000 and the newly minted Bush-Cheney administration. Updated throughout the day Monday through Friday.
I'm sure it was tongue-in-cheek, but I wonder if they really have no slant in either direction? I'll find out, I guess.

tootsiepop,
I know you're asking KRS, but I thought I'd add that a good bit of Dubya's less ethical activitites are recounted in Molly Ivins' and Lou Dubose's "Shrub: the Short but Happy Politial Life of George W. Bush", which has been out for over a year. I'm not familiar with Dubose's work, but I find Molly Ivins (who is admittedly left leaning) to be a very fair writer. In "Shrub", she's fair enough to give Bush credit for education.
