OK. I'm a fairly reasonable person. If you can prove to me that a full recount of the ENTIRE state of Florida would still have elected Bush, then I'd accept him as my President -- for now.
But where does anyone get off thinking that the nation's Top 1% deserve 43% of the Tax Cut proposal? Here's my problem with it: Say I'm in the 50% tax bracket. Do I pay 50% of my income to Uncle Sam?
No.
Don't I at least get the standard deductions like every other homeowner?
You bet! And MORE!
You see, our tax code is so designed that the higher your tax bracket, the more deductions you get write off or take fully advantage of. So, prove to me that even ONE SINGLE ONE-PERCENTER ACTUALLY PAYS 50%?
Oh, heck! Show me where they even pay 43% and I'll be happy!
NOTE: General Motors has not paid a single penny in taxes since the mid-1950's.

Please -- prove it to me. Prove to me that the top one-percent pay 43% of the income taxes and I'll actually praise them for getting their money back!

NOTE: In 1992 presidential election campaign, in order to defuse the Democratic charge of always "beating up" on the ultra-rich for more money for the poor, the GOP came out with the fact that "Even if the ultra-rich paid 100% of their income in taxes, it would only amount to 8% of the budget!"
