Postal fee increases.
Ebay fee increases.
Auctionwatch fees starting.
Where is a free image hosting site?
Ebay is down & I have auctions ending?
Deadbeat bidders.
My local server is out!
Check bounced.
Internet virus embedded in e-mail.
Earthquake.
Item sold for less than I paid for it.
Newbie with no feedback won my $400 auction and its been 2 1/2 days since it ended & I haven't heard from them!

Oh, gee, and this is just the short list!

So, how many times a week DO YOU panic?
And what about?

I am not good at being late.
I panic when I think I am going to be late.
I am not as bad as I was.

Gosh. Those are annoyances and not worthy of panic. I thought you meant out-and-out-cold-sweat-hyperventilating-think-you're-gonna-die type panic. I hardly ever do that.

The last time I panicked was when some idiot opened an abandoned suitcase instead of calling for the bomb squad. Younger kitten and I were about fifty feet away and would have probably died if the suitcase had exploded. When I realized what was happening, I freaked, shoved the kitten(who is 6'2" and 240#) down, threw myself over him, and prayed for the suitcase to be just a suitcase.

After that, the dental appointment was anticlimactic.

How often do I panic? Is that with or without my medication?

Shadowcat - First I would have probably kicked the snot out of the idiot who did that just so the police would really have something to do when they got there.

Second - I would like to point out that when you tell us stories involving your "kitten" we do not picture 6'2" - 240 # as kittenish.
My young ox might be more accurate. I had a tow headed tyke pictured before.

Gravid: When I told the tom what happened, he insisted I call the SPs right away. They were VERY interested in what happened.

Both kittens are big but they're still my babies( a notion that causes them to roll their eyes in the same longsuffering way their father does)

I panicked a couple months ago when elder kitten called and said "Mom, I've been in an accident." Then I realized he must be all right if he had the presence of mind to call and quit panicking.

I suffer from severe anxiety and have panic attacks several times a week...minimum. Lots of things set them off, from major things (how will I pay my car payment so they don't come and take my car?) to stupid things (that person said they didn't get their package, are they going to report me to eBay/PayPal/Neg me?). I take medication for it (doesn't seem to help) but they are very debilitating (the worse ones are). I've ended up in the ER twice thinking I was dying.

Is that the type of panic you mean?

At least eight times a day. When it isn't about eBay stuff, it's about home stuff... bills, etc.... but I always panic/stress over my teenagers. My boys are good kids, but they are teenagers who of course are dumb in most areas of life!!!! My oldest will be going off to college in the fall and I've already started to panic over that... who will wake him up... does he know how to do his laundry... what if he burns the dorm down with a cigarette...what if... what if.... I think I need medication!!!!!

I like to think I rarely panic. Panic seems to release something into the brain causing the IQ levels to lower.

Last night I will confess to panicking for a few seconds. At 2:30 am someone started kicking on my door. When I approached it I couldn't exactly make out what they were saying but I could make out part of it, "... for your life!!!." I opened the door and my neighbor was telling me to get some clothes on and get out of the apartment that his unit was on fire.

I told him to calm down and explain. He said his stove was on fire and he emptied an extinguisher on it and failed to put out the fire. I looked and saw the stove had an electrical fire and walked over to the breaker box and killed the power. I gave him my extinquisher and told him that he could kill the fire now.

By the time the fire department showed up I was drinking my Bailey's and milk on the rocks on the balcony, already back in my leisure mode. The bonus came this morning, the apartment manager reduced my rent for next month in appreciation.

For about half an hour until the Xanax kicks in! And that's just the small stuff! Oddly enough I don't panic over serious stuff, just step in and do it. The panic comes about 2 hours later!

I have these weird attacks? at nights. If my nose gets plugged up, I think I'm dying. That's when I panic. Getting back to sleep is nearly impossible. It's horrible! It hasn't happened in over a year (knock on wood!) I was telling my Mother about them one time. I found out she had them too. Hers could happen in the day also. Has anyone else ever had this happen?
