I guess I'd rather be a fool because "idiot" just seems too close to "ass.hole".

Hmmm, I think I'd prefer to be chortling. Blathering sounds as if it would require long posts. I like short posts.

O.K. James but do you blather or do you chortle??? Ya HAVE to choose.
XardonI'm sorry but 50/50 isn't available on this question. So I'll let you phone a friend.
BTW, where's your girlfriend. We need this place livened up tonight!
Geeee, duh, I dunno if you can be a blathering fool or a chortling idiot Hepburn Now, you've gone and confused me. LMAO!!!
Very succinct Irene and so true.

I'll let her pick for me tomorrow.

Xardon
For the edification of some, and for the consternation of others,
O.K., That part was damned close to blathering - but the rest of it made up for it.
Seriously, you made some excellent points there! That wouldn't have put the girlfriend to sleep. LOL
Hepburn I rarely if ever drool while chortling. And, if I do I make sure I don't get behind the wheel of a car.
It's called "responsible chortling."

A blathering idiot is better than being the "village idiot" and a chortling fool has got to be somewhere near being "nobodies fool"....so me thinks the chortling wins...sounds happier anyway!

Chortle, combination of chuckle and snort...anyone ever have something strike them soooo funny that they did that awful "snort" sound...well I have learned to chortle with my lips sealed...joyful and ladylike...I am NOBODY'S fool!!

When bored, I used to play scrabble with my sister and we would make up words that didnt exist. Long as it was pronounceable, it was allowed. We laughed so hard trying to say it out loud, as well as making up the meaning. It got pretty raunchy at times.
Drook. Never Drook when chocking.

ROTF!
Chortling while drooking will definetly make you brabal in your drawers. However, whitlest is fine, as long as you exhorbate at the same time.
