Double numbers on a player's uniform brings good luck.
It's bad luck for a professional football player to take a new number when he is traded to another team.
A mascot is an important good luck symbol.
Now I have to admit I don't know a lot about the game of football.....but I do know a Tight end when I see one!!

Hi! I usually just lurk, but I had to respond to this, since I'm a huge hockey fan and it's playoff time.
Not too long ago, one of the Stars announcers was a sub for one of the regular guys. The Stars were doing really well, hadn't been scored on yet in the third. This substitute announcer keeps babbling on about the shutout that we're gonna get...on and on... everyone watching was having a stroke! Finally, the regular guy tells him to PLEASE stop saying that, if we lost the shutout, it was gonna be his fault! (We got it!)
I have never again worn the shirt I was wearing when Dallas lost the Cup last year.
I only drink Canadian beer on game days. (It's good luck, and yummy!)
If I'm at home, I play my hockey CD before the game, and during the SECOND intermission...never the first.
My kid absolutely refuses to wear his autographed hat during a game.
I could go on, but I'm sure y'all think I'm weird now, and understand why I usually lurk!
