Cadbury Creme Eggs, hands down!
When I was a kid, we hid the eggs ... but my dad would play tricks on us and hang the whole basket full of eggs up in a tree. Not realizing the basket was hanging right over our heads, we'd spend ages hunting the eggs. He considered not having to hide each individual egg a time-saver.

My favorite Easter candy is... well, I don't know how to describe them or what they're called! They're chocolate-like, but not like normal chocolate. They're really dense and they're sort of hard, but they're soft enough to bite into easily. They're yummy... does anyone know what I'm talking about?

We used to save the L'eggs eggs and fill em
with candy or coins and hide them in the side and back yard for the kids to find.
But we had to do a map since one year the special egg with a $5 bill was lost until July.
One time the kids wanted to do the hiding of eggs I think they were 5 & 7. Well, we played along and took our time hunting til there was just one left somewhere in the less than furnished dining room. New house and the set had not arrived yet...there were two chairs and a low coffee table. No egg, behind the drapes, under the chairs or table.
The kids insisted there was still ONE egg. Checked out the light fixture not there. This was a REAL egg where could they have hidden it.....oh well, 5 lbs of masking tape will hold an Easter egg to the underside of the chair seat. Soooo funny!
They were so proud to have outdone the Bunny!!

I used to hide eggs all around the back yard play area for my children when they were little, and they would have a search for them, we always had to remember how many we put out and where they were, just in case the kids' could not find them, and we could then guide them in the right direction.
Every easter we used to have a special easter basket for each child, and that would be on the table when they came out first thing on Easter Morning, it would be filled with all sorts of wonderful chocolate delights for them, and throughout the rest of the day more and more things would appear as if by magic for them. It tooks them years to work out that I was the one who keep filling up their baskets. LOL

Why don't we have any of the fundementalists who complain about Halloween being pagan pointing out that Easter is simply the sex worship of Semiramis (Easter) who was the goddess of
Fertility. The Easter egg is a symbol of the pagan Mother Goddess. All dipped in Christianizing chocolate! Rabbits are not featured for their long ears folks, but for their reproductive talent which goes with a Spring celebration of the rebirth of the Earth.

For the same reason they don't complain about Christmas or any of the other Christian observances that were plastered on top of older, pagan observance days...*those* days don't have gasp! ghosts, witches or other "evil" entities associated with them. Which is funny when you think about, since they are worshipping a guy who rose from the dead...

My all time Easter egg has to be a See's Candy egg. Medium hard chocolate on the outside, smooth, creamy lighter chocolate and walnuts on the inside. To die for.
When our boys were little we always hid the eggs (or anything chocolate) inside. The hard boiled eggs were hidden outside, in case they didn't find all of them. The See's candy egg was always the 'big' prize to be found. Oh what memories.
When our granddaughter was able to enjoy an Easter egg hunt, our son hid things like paints, paint brushes, books, etc. for her to find along with the candy. Such fun.

My grandmother used to make great Easter baskets. They were always different. One year we all got cowboy hats turned upside down, filled with Easter candy. And it was the good candy that she bought from a candy store. Little sugar creme chickens and carrots, and the real original Peep bunnies. I have pictures of them, and it's so neat to look back to those days (40 years ago, kids!).
Although, I didn't like having to spend the WHOLE day at my grandma's. There was nothing to do (which was awful since we spent all morning in church trying to behave). We ate Easter dinner at noon (ham with raisin sauce, succotash - ugh!, mashed potatoes, and home made chocolate cake with a lemon sauce between the layers). Then the adults would take naps and the kids sat around with nothing to do since there were only two channels on the t.v., both with sports on. Then we had ham sandwiches for dinner and then watched Lawrence Welk. It made for a long boring day. Ditto for Thanksgiving.
